I can well believe it, it's a positive vote and they'll the only stand out act so far, so of course they'll pick up votes at this stage, they wont win however I suspect they'll be gone by week 6. They could make the final 3 at a push although I doubt this.
If people were voting to get rid they'd have gone in week 1.
I think Cowell and co have released this information so the public realise there is support for them and they start to stop voting for them.
That makes no sense. If they're already voting for them then they already support them. Why would they stop?
People may be voting for them because they think they're the underdog, this information goes against that, and people who support them will think they are safe and the vote may begin to drop off as a result of that.
Surely Simon wants to keep them in for at least another 4 episodes - they are bringing in the viewers in their droves, I'd say the ratings will continue to rise with people hoping to see their exit.
Despite the act he puts on I imagine it was as much Simon's decision to put them through to the finals as it was Louis. The novelty act always generates the most publicity (Chico, Same Difference) and these two were always clearly going to be the act people hate but secretly can't wait to see each week.
I'd like to see them win simply because it would make a mockery of the show and would serve Simon right. Although they can't really be any more unsuccessful then 3 of the 5 previous winners.

Shayne's album keeps getting postponed, it looks as though Simon is trying to push it until after the contract expires or for leaving it for as long as possible so he can focus on Leona and Alex. The way series 6 is shaping up, we're in for another flop year anyway.
Its obvious Simon wants John & Edward to stay in. Simon was secretly loving Sunday and all the publicity Danyl being in the bottom 2 would bring (even though it didn't even shock me in the slightest). If Simon was annoyed, it was definitely because he thought Danyl was his strongest not because of John and Edward. They won't be going until at least week 6. Week 5 is usually the pivotal week where the real contenders begin to emerge whilst other favourites begin to fall away, and that is also usually the end of the public making no sense with their voting, on the whole of course.
Watching the show I couldn't help feeling that Cheryl may have a point when she mentioned that this was the first time the show has had a 'Rock week', and that by pure coincidence Simon has a rock singer. I can't help but wonder whether Simon does have an influence over the themes chosen.

Just like I'm sure the leak this week the twins were winning the vote were with his approval - despite his denials on The Xtra Factor tonight.
After tonights show Danyl must go - talented maybe, but if he can't be arsed, why should anyone bother voting for him. And Simon needs to get with reality - being talented wouldn't stop him dropping acts the public don't like enough to buy their music in the real world.
Olly is his only shot at winning, but although he could potentially be a big British star, as he isn't really marketable to America Simon wouldn't want that.
