Yeah but you're comparing Cheryl to Whitney.

That's like comparing Smartprice steak to London's finest butcher - there is no comparison. Whatever she said was hardly profound.

And I've forgotten what I'm doing on stage before - or what the next scene is, for that matter - so add jet lag into the mix and quite possibly the hotel minibar and you've got a bit of a weird mix!

I'm sorry - this was the most important night of her recent career and she totally blew it. She hardly suffered jet-lag when she's been here for the majority of the week.

You're obviously a fan, and she is/was a legend - but you have to agree she was NOT at the standard expected tonight at all - and I'll think you'll see in tomorrows press that most people agree she was outperformed by Cheryl.

I'm listening to Whitney's vocal again and I simply can't agree that she was outperformed by Cheryl. there were times that Cheryl was searching for a tune and the whole performance just didn't come up to the production standard or the vocal standard I'd be expecting. I'm not necessarily that big a fan either.

Also - the "um, they have a long way to go" comment or whatever - was clearly a way of avoiding saying that all of the finalists are crap.

Whitney's "vocal" was mainly a backing track! There are many points during her 'performance' where she wasn't even near the microphone but her voice was still belting out!

Cheryl sang completely live - you simply can't argue that point at all - I'm not saying she has an amazing voice because she doesn't, but her performance was miles better than Whitney purely because she sang herself, danced, wasn't off her face, and knew what was happening in the room at the time!

Whitney didn't even seem to know where she was, let alone when her album was released (saying "tomorrow" is hardly taxing, is it?)

Elephant in the room - Lloyd is unbelievably terrible! People who give out about John and Edward need to review Lloyd's shambolic performances first.

All pretty poor this time round. Yet highest rated series so far? You can't beat the GBP Wink

I thought Whitney was actually very good

When you take into account that she had to totter down about 20 perpex stairs in high heals, the dress was too long and then actually started falling apart during the performance, she was contending with quite a lot

And I loved the fact that in the two shows, she gave her opinion, and didn't fall into the "everyone's a star" rubbish. And the "Simon thinks I'm lippy" comment was fabulous!

Loved Miss Frank tonight! Incredible.

I'm getting bottom two feelings about Lucie and - for the first time - John & Edward. Lloyd deserves to be bottom two but, as long as teenage girls are voting, he won't be unfortunately.

I'm really liking Rachel's performance this week... she really hasn't been given enough credit.
I reckon Lloyd will be in danger, especially if Joe wins the cute vote over this week.

What's up with the focus on the judge's close-ups though? It seemed really noticeable on the John & Edward comments, it seems to be constantly losing focus, then fixing back on.
I thought the studio cameras were totally manual? It doesn't look like the type of thing an operator would do.

I feel a bit sorry for Lloyd really - these themed weeks just don't work for some contestants and firstly with Divas, then Big Band - and if he survives next week Rock, Lloyd just isn't going to get the chance to do the more generic stuff he could be good at. Not working for Jamie either, but although not Big Band, I thought his performance was much better than he got credit for tonight.

Also blatantly obvious Simon only cares about Danyl, and he admitted himself tonight the show is about him making money across the world, not voters choosing an act they will see a lot of here in the UK - three years on and it's not until next month Leona will play her first UK gig. To be fair though tonight was the first time since the auditions I felt with Danyl the performance matched Simon Cowell's blinkered praise.

Lucie was my pick of the night, whilst with Stacey I'd like to see a bit more of Stacey in her performances, rather than her switching off the Essex girl and turning into diva mould. As for Rachel - I don't think she was any better than the previous weeks to be honest, and is still very much at risk of being in the bottom two. If she is, even if it's against the twins, she has to go - it's unfair to keep her any longer when she clearly doesn't have the public support.

Talking of the twins - better than last week, but Rachel apart it has now come to the point where their place in the show is at the expense of someone who has a shot of success. One more week perhaps, but I think their time is probably up this week.

You can't blame the songs - Lloyd is terrible, but he'll definitely make it through because of his looks. Anyone that disputes that don't understand the usual voters for this programme.

John and Edward's novelty wearing off.

Rachel completely ruined her decent performance with her ill-informed after song interview with Dermot. Simon wanted to see her true personality, perhaps a mistake letting her talk.
