And so Chris fell at the last hurdle. Everyone seemed gutted including Chris and Simon, who as Exec Producer has just said on the Xtra Factor that he really wants to change the rules and keep him in for tomorrow's final.

Maybe everyone thought he'd not have a problem so didn't bother voting tonight? I voted once for the first time but it obviously didn't make a difference!

I reckon thats what did it. Everyone not voting because they thought other people were anyway. It was a big shock though, even Moyles didn't think he'd have a problem.

Oh well, here's to Matt and Lucy - both good in my opinion.

It is two studios that can be operated as a single studio if required by opening a huge door (with motors usually used to rotate gun turrets on warships I believe)

The two studios are not the largest in Europe (TC1 at TV Centre is bigger) - but when they operate together they are the largest studio space.

Depends whether, semantically, you think of it as one studio that can be split, or two studios that can be merged. I believe originally they were built to mainly operate as separate studios.

Are there still two galleries?

So Chirs has gone Its great that Lucy is the first Xfactor finalist but sadly I think Matt will win because of the female votes. I wish Lucy well

I hope she gets no air-time. What a stupid thing to do, bring her back.

According to an e-mail read out on Radio 1 this morning,the voting numbers changed for last night's show: Chris' number became Matts

Oh dear. What do we make of that...?

An idiot on the production team not thinking straight obviously made that decision.

From the start the numbers were done in alphabetical order with Chris "03" until last night when they rejigged again alphabetically so Chris became "01", Lucy "02" but this now meant Matt became "03".

If you're like Dave's mum and didn't bother listening to the recorded voice of who you actually voted for, you'd probably be none the wiser. Supposedly Chris was way ahead on text votes too.

Let's hope they review that idea before the next proper series.

You are misinformed. The voting numbers changed EVERY night for EVERY act, and is based on the position that they sing in the contest. ie. 01 for first on, etc. Moyles was 09 on the first night as the last on.

Nobody was allocated a single number throughout the entire series. Enough of the conspiracies, maybe Mr Moyles isn't as popular as he thought.

Fair enough. I did try to find out from a couple of sites what the original numbers were each night.

Like the BBC, never trust a single source.
