I agree the brand is definitely muddled and trying The Band away from “X Factor” would probably be the best idea to try and establish a new franchise. But I do see where the suggestion that Celebrities may be brand building are coming from.

Megan McKenna has had every single one of her performances make the iTunes Top 10. Which is impressive, when you consider streaming is the most popular way to consume music on the go these days, so some people have decided her performance(s) were good enough to part with cold hard cash.

Although, she has released an album in the past - so maybe it’s an unfair comparison as you could already label her “a recording artist”. But if it’s an XF appearance that makes her music more mainstream......

Simon said at the start of the show that he’s been reading comments on social media and, as a result, the safe seats are gone as people don’t like them.

Mate if you’ve been reading the comments on social media, they’ll be the least of your concerns.

Simon tries to blame the public for all his decisions now.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact the judge used the thing to safe their own acts.

Vinne's sing off went far too long and was painful to listen too.

It just got worse.
What the hell.
The bands will bomb totally.

Going by Twitter, no one agrees with Simons decision and are calling the show a fix. If this is his attempt at “fixing the brand”, he may have actually just put one of the final nails in its coffin tonight. I wonder if The Wall and The Chase beat it again in the ratings...?

Every talent and reality show on TV is described as a fix on Twitter.

I’m not saying tonight’s decision wasn’t controversial however.

More of a farce than a fix by all accounts. Actually returning it to three judges opens it up for the "imparial" just to vote tactically to protect their own acts, and maybe Simon isn't getting the credit he deserves because he seems to have kept the worst act in every week (then invented a twist to save his own act).

I think Kevin was sent home by Simon because he wants people to talk about it. Maybe that's his plan to get the public interested in the show again and if so it's going to do the opposite
