Rather than wait till the New Year would like to see ITV try the Masked Singer in the post- Christmas lull. I think it would do as well from Sat 28th Dec - Sat 4th Jan, with a night off for New Years Eve, as it would a week later. Should rate better than yet another Harry Potter rerun too.
Do we know when The Masked Singer is supposed to air and what format it will take. i.e. weekly on a Saturday or Sunday, or stripped across 7 nights? Id be surprised if airs the same time as the Voice unless one will go Saturday and one Sunday. They also have Dancing on Ice to consider. Too many similar types of talent shows, which is why IMO X Factor is the one that should be axed.
I saw stripped but in the New Year. Hasn't it already been recorded considering they used the Dancing on Ice studio and Joel Dommett is hosting, and he'll be in Australia now for I'm a Celeb.

I’ve been thinking. Lots has been made of the ratings for the celeb series, making out the show is in crisis etc.
Maybe it’s not about ratings this year. Maybe it’s about repairing the brand and it’s reputation for creating big stars. It’s been a good few years since the show had some real success, but you could feasibly have V5, No Love Lost, Kevin McHale and Megan McKenna go on to have decent careers in the music industry after this series.

Low ratings though have only served to damage the brand further, and are a direct result of poor production choices. Nobody believes any of these people will go on to successful music careers.
I didn’t say they were necessarily winning, but if the objective is post-show success then that can’t really be determined yet...
If the show struggled to make a success of artists when it had double the current ratings even a few years back, I struggle to see how they'll do so now.
And the brand is arguably more muddled than ever - which is quite impressive given how the series in recent years seemed to veer from wanting to be 'current' to 'wanting to be the show viewers know and love' on an annual basis and the judging panel changed so often that the Sugababes line-up seems strong and stable by comparison.
