Some more ratings from yesterday
Rugby World Cup Final - England v South Africa
: Average: 8.92m (67% share) Peak: 12,79m
Pointless Celebrities
: 4.5 million (unsure if peak or average but great rating)
Haven't got Strictly yet but imagine it will be around the 9 million.
Danny Dyer does a fine job in my opinion. I think you’re mistaking your dislike for him as him not being good in The Wall.
May be a controversial opinion but I 100% agree, I watched it for the first time last week and I enjoyed it and I found Dyer very engaging and a competent presenter.

Danny Dyer is one of those people who people dislike without actually watching them. I agree - he’s actually pretty good. I think you can sense that he’s a decent fella in real life.

With 4.1 million viewers “The Wall” stands a good chance of getting another series. With the Strictly lead in of course, that’s a higher rating then “Casualty” normally gets.

X Factor / itv have consistently departed the concept of keeping things simple.
So it's really easy to see why a casual viewer would drift off to watch something much easier to follow.

I've always found Danny Dyer very watchable but he seemed completely the wrong choice for this when announced. I've not seen it myself yet though but comments seem to suggest after a shaky start it's worked out quite well - and far better than just giving another quiz show to Nick Knowles.
Like most when it was announced, great format (bar the forced to act ending before the prize money reveal) but dreadful choice as host.
But actually, Danny is alright as host and unlike some shows I've seen Rylan host, seems to be genuinely wrapped up in how well the contestants are doing.
Hopefully, it's done well enough for a second series, and Remarkable Television will try, loan and bring across the French Wall prop, and record it in this country.
Because for valid reasons for the first series, renting out the Polish set and studio facilities was a safe option, but the lack of audience reaction at Dan's quips and gags, really kills the atmosphere.

It's the same mistake Big Brother made after a few years - adding so many complications into what is a very basic format. It was impossible to join the series half way through as the back story was just impenetrable.
X Factor All Stars has now been axed to be replaced by a rip-off of Popstars: The Rivals, with X Factor: The Band to take its slot. Louis is reportedly axed again, along with the previously announced Paula Abdul.
