I think the original BGT theme tune is pretty decent - just a shame they replaced it with the weaker fanfare opening a few years back. A few other countries, including Ireland, use similar visuals but with the original theme tune (or at least an update of it).

Isn't the theme, like BGT's, mainly just used for the end credits? They no longer have a full length title sequence do they?

X Factor still have them, but half the length they once were.

(I know it's a request) - but on this, does anyone have a decent high-quality version of the full BGT theme tune?
Never managed to find a decent version...

He clearly didn’t mind it that much to model America’s Got Talent’s first theme on it

Which then caused obvious issues when the US got the X Factor

(Can’t seem to find a decent version of the opening - the full first episode is there though!)

I’ve always wondered why they added the ‘stuttering’ effect to the BGT theme tune

“It is one of the worst theme tunes I’ve ever heard” - why on Earth did you use it for 15 years then?!

"Is my tired singing competition format irretrievably out of touch?..

...no, it is the theme tune that is wrong."

I guess Simon’s comments years back about how they would never ever do a celebrity version again as it was a total waste of time have been forgotten.

I think you could make a book out of insincere or hypocritical comments that Simon has made over the years regarding his shows and their contestants.

Finally some details coming out, Dermot was on This Morning the other day. They filmed auditions for celebs in the US back in the Summer. The winning celeb gets a record deal. Dermot thinks the show will be really good fun (he would say that) - if they get the right people on board, it might actually be pretty good.

Think I read it’s Simon, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger (just the 3) judging.
