STV only have very small news studios in their HQ, the biggest one holding the News at Six set and Scotland Tonight set.

How big is Studio two, which held the Santata sports and The peak time "the hour" show?

Wasn't the Setanta stuff at STV done using VR? If so it probably wasn't that big (though may have looked bigger on-screen due to VR)

Where did they film in Glasgow? As the back drop was the Squinty Bridge and the Finnieston Crane...

The backdrop looked to be video on portrait plasmas or similar - so I suspect needed to bear little real relation to the actual location of the audition room. The few bits I saw appeared to have a raised stage section on top of some kind of real floor with a pattern on it (i.e. not a studio floor) - so I assumed a large hotel/conference-type venue.

Here's an oddity I noticed on the two X Factor shows that have aired so far:

Before the end credits roll, Dermot is giving a voiceover which says "For exclusive behind-the-scenes clips, go to the following website ". I half expected this was phrased that way due to how ITV and STV and UTV share promotion of websites now, but the on-screen text here in STV Central read "itv.com/xfactor" on both nights - so a bit confused as to why he didn't just read out the URL.

Indeed, the following sentence of the same V/O the went on "The X Factor continues next weekend on ITV", with ITV written in the on-screen text - so the V/O suddenly went from vague generic referennce to web, then became owner-specific in reference to where to watch on telly next week. Bit weird and was kinda clunky to listen to, for me at least.

Does Peter Dickson normally only voiceover the live shows? Dermot read out the "It's time to face the music" tagline on Saturday's show.

Sharon Osbourne has certainly brought some fun back to the series this year and actually gives some good feedback in many occasions. Far more "real" than Tulisa ever pretended to be

Anyone know how the transmission for The X Factor on TV3 in Ireland works? During the pre-recorded episodes do TV3 get the original tapes from X Factor as ITV do, or do they latch onto some sort of live feed from ITV? Likewise during the live shows do TV3 have a feed straight from Fountain Studios to them, or do they again have a feed from ITV to TV3?

Apologies for the dullness of this query..

TV3's programming deal is with ITV rather than Syco/FremantleMedia and it covers a lot of programmes from different production companies so I would assume they get a clean feed of programmes from ITV.

Aren't STV suppose to get clean feeds aswell?

Hmm - someone obviously doesn't look at the pictures in their edit closely enough on a decent monitor - you could have got rid of the edge around the moon very easily...

The question is - why the need to put a moon in there in the first place? It's not an episode of Doctor Who.
