Did it ever occur to you that I may have been on a different account or merely a long term browser before this name? Not for any negative reasons; perhaps I forgot my old password after not visiting for a while, or something else that happens in life.

No because firstly most forums have a rule against double accounts, and the only reason you would have another account would be either you had an argument with another person and said you were "never coming back to this place", or a disgraced former member (i.e. [MMTV - A troll who is banned from TVForum]) who kept coming back to keep annoying people. Long term browser? You mean lurker. No, I wouldn't consider that either because as far as I know you've only been part of this community since you joined. Previously you didn't participate in the community at all, as a lurker.

Secondly, most, if not all sites have a lost password form, this one included. You can find it by clicking here. There would be no point in creating another account just because you forgot your password.

I made this account originally for an A Level media project back in 2007.

I'm sorry I don't take the internet as seriously as yourself.

Talking of taking the internet seriously - lecturing an X Factor thread about how a different show is better, then having a go at other members for something rather small. Hmm?

People are allowed to have opinions - arguing over them on here is actually far more Digital Spy-esque. So cut it out..

Now after my little moan last night, I actually think it's rather pathetic Strictly took such a lead in the ratings over X due to Wembley. All I was saying in here was I thought TVF would be interested in the mechanics behind the 'day out'.

I've had forum accounts that I couldn't access because I'd forgotten which email address I used to register. A password reset isn't much use then, is it?

Well that's a bit stupid. How could you do that? You can always type in each of your several email addresses. Usually most people only have three or four, it can't take that long to type them in each.

Thanks for that.

In this case it appeared to have been an old email account that I had long since lost access to.

So it does happen.

I see, well usually I'd contact the admin of a forum, prove my identification and log myself back in. Too far, maybe, but better than just starting a new account and losing all my posts.
