Unless they want OFCOM complaint related headlines spread across the tabloids, they can't bring back anyone who has previously been involved in a public vote, plus they'd have to refund phone votes and get into all kinds of muddy water which is not wanted.

What a Complete and utter shamblic mess, I cant wait for the public outcry and new OFcom bulletin
Well in the T&Cs for voting this is the relevent part:
Quote:
If you are voting on whether a person continues to participate on a programme, and that contestant is unable to or is prevented from performing fully in the programme due to medical reasons, or for other reasons which are beyond the control of the Promoter and/or the producers of the programme, then the producers of the programme will decide whether that person will continue to participate in the programme, having regard to all circumstances and information available to them at the relevant time. The producers of the programme will in their sole discretion determine if another contestant may be allowed to participate in the programme.
I'd say only anyone voting for Franke last week might have an argument to claim back their 36p - although I don't get why they don't include the get out clauses "Votes are non refundable", but companies are now paying the price for not defending themselves fully back in 2007, while the phone companies - mobile companies especially - got off with zero liability.
How does everyone think this will play out tonight? and now louie is starting to hate the show aswell. could this really be the last year?
Seriously? The show is as popular as ever. The only reason this would be the last year would be to go out on a high instead of having a continuous decline which no show wants to have.
We only get the American version over here. It's A complete shambles as well. The sound is woeful and the audience noise drowns out the acts and the judges comments. Nicole Whatsit: how did she get to be a judge? She's hardly an expert in anything.
From a presentation perspective, the only bit I enjoyed was the decision to take the groups to the judges homes. Back in the huge studio, excellent graphics and stage sets. But the talking bits are woeful. And the guy who presents it, Steve Jones I think, seems to struggle with the entire trip.
