The stage (studio) also, to me, looks smaller than the UK! I know Fountain is the biggest purpose built TV studio in Europe (well maybe...may have been overtaken recently?) but surely in the US of A the stage would be huge! Maybe the lighting wasn't as good and it is in fact a bigger space than Fountain.

I believe that they're doing it at 'Stage 36' at CBS Television City which is bigger than Fountain but only very slightly. Fountain is 14,000 sqft including firelines and Stage 36 is 15,400 sqft including firelanes. It's the same stage used for American Idol and America's Got Talent.

Fountain is still the biggest purpose built TV Studio in the UK but has been overtaken in Europe by Brainpool TV's Studio 5 (I think??) in Germany.

Do you have a pic of the Brainpool studio?

I'm afraid I don't - I'd be very interested in seeing it too actually.

X Factor ahead on Sunday ratings.

I think it might be one of the highest overnights for XF and Strictly so far?

Ratings usually jump slightly when the clocks go back.

I booked a hostel in New York through Wimdu last year when the american version of x factor was on and noone I spoke to really cared about it. It's not like in the UK where everyone talks about it at work after the weekend. They seem to like Cowell over there, even if they don't watch the show...

Just watching the us x factor on ITV 2.

Don't know if anyone else noticed it but one of the female contestants sang Katrina and the Waves walking on sunshine.

One of the judges commented on the different lyrics used. They were the same lyrics used (and I assume written) by Gamu on last years X Factor auditions.

EDIT: just found this link. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/s141/the-x-factor-us/news/a349024/simon-cowell-rehashes-gamus-walking-on-sunshine-on-x-factor-usa.html
