Apparently X-Factor USA bombed somewhat last night, coming third in its timeslot. Not good considering the $$$ that FOX has spent on it.

Most people, including me, preferred Cheryl to Nicole. It was trending on Twitter CHERYL COLE ROCKS and many people are using the tag #bringbackcheryl. If I were Simon I would bring her back!

11.7 million for their first show. Do the American networks have catch-up services on their websites, or are they into cable like TiVO (just a guess)?

Does anyone know when it will air on ITV 2?

8pm as a simple look of your EPG would have told you.

She sounded very out of place on that title sequence, very whiny and flat (I wonder if it was recorded after she was got rid of?). Seems she got good reviews though, The New York Times said: “Ms Cole showed glimmers of being interesting".... well she's never been interesting here (except when she beat up that cloakroom attendant)

Of course the views of the savvy media types in cities like New York, may differ from the likes of those in middle America.

Really not liking those titles at all - they're not really an evolution, more reinventing the wheel as they obviously liked the UK concept but wanted something new, so basically remade them but worse (like the show itself) The French ones are much better.

As for the show - only stuck the first 15 minutes with the giant "Only Way is Essex" promo polluting the screen but it seemed somewhat flat - and that 13 year old kid is the reason I guess Charlton Heston always opposed bans on schoolkids shooting each other.

Ratings disapointing too considering what we've seen with other US premieres in recent days, but that said The X Factor has generally been a grower rather than a shower (ITV could easily have axed it after it's first year based on ratings). On the flipside trying to sell a seven year old show as something new just doesn't really work.

What. The Hell. Was that.

Did that guy just, go, shall we say... "full frontal" in front of 4,000 people in Seattle and not get arrested for public offence?

I believe the guy was wearing a thong and the X was there just for effect.

Here's a better quality clip of the titles.

And the X to be heading towards America.

Also does anyone else think the reason they don't have the X on the table is so people don't think the judges press a button and lights up when they see an act they don't like?

Yes I don't like the new titles either - disagree with the comment above about 'UK not being able to do CGI right'. The titles are perfect.

If they wanted to incorporate America on the map instead of the UK, they could easily have done so, just look at this mock up for example:
