Maybe they could hire her as security for Simon. Wink

I'm not reading too much into this - it'll probably change about sixty times before Wednesday, and if true is surely only delaying the inevitable and a much bigger mistake than sacking her in the first place.

The bigger mistake was putting Nicole into the judging position. She simply isn't liked in America. Cheryl & Nicole are pretty similar so it makes sense to get their moneys worth out of Cheryl because FOX will be paying up whether or not she appears. And if Cheryl does end up going down well with the American audience (as she has with those who have been to the auditions) then it may not have been delaying the inevitable after all.

I'd argue Nicole is too much like Paula.

But if you think she's going to ruin your show, it's better to pay her not to be on it than to be it on it? Therefore just losing out once than twice.

But if Nicole is unpopular in America then it doesn't matter whether Nicole or Cheryl is in that seat, because the show could be ruined with either of them.

But if she's unpopular it would make more sense for her to be a judge than a host, would it not? You not really required to have any opinions one way or the other about the host, but it's quite normal to have a judge no one likes.

Exactly, and she can't be that unpopular if she won Dancing with the Stars. It's surely better for the show to have a judge people have an opinion about than a judge they've never heard off too.

True, but the disliked judge role will be going to Simon, and Nicole doesn't generate much opinion, shes just disliked and wouldn't fill such a role well. She isn't big enough to draw viewers in either, so at least by having Cheryl there is the advantage of viewers being able to latch on to her over the course of the series.

Alesha Dixon won Strictly Come Dancing. She isn't exactly popular. I do like Nicole but if she was to be a judge she'd be better off on the UK series, shes quite well liked here.

The thing is I don't get the impression fans of his shows don't like Cowell. I think Louis (who I like and clearly is just used as a device to put joke acts through these days) is less liked than Cowell by fans who just think he ruins the show and takes chances away from quality artists.

Cheryl NOT going back to the US

The Sun posted:
CHERYL Cole WILL be replaced by Nicole Scherzinger on the US X Factor, it was confirmed today.

An official statement released this morning that Nicole will join Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid on the judging panel.

I'll take my opportunity to say "told you so" before the next U-turn takes place. Very Happy

Alesha was very popular until Arlene was dropped (which was seen as very unfair by many people, although to be honest, it wasn't Alesha's fault and she did take the brunt of all the bad press)

If anyone was to replace Cheryl on XFUSA, I'd like it to be Nicole (although, I'd rather have had her as a judge over here)
