Confirmed by ITV Press on Twitter, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos are the judges for this year's X Factor.

Of those, I think Kelly Rowland is a big mistake. The others I can live with.

But Tulisa will be no doubt be sacked after two auditions.

Kelly is the most successful on the panel, why is she a big mistake? I'll judge the panel when I see it, my judgement for this kind of thing is usually way off. I didn't think Cheryl and Dannii would make good judges. They did. I didn't think the new BGT panel would work, and it did.

The new panel is fairly credible, which can only help the programmes reputation.

There are still two weak links on that panel.

For the same reason as Cheryl was a mistake in the US. She's not exactly made it over here as a solo star.

That is a fair point - but in a way the damage has already been done by Simon letting the saga play out for so long and so publically. Indeed Louis is still the weak link on the panel and arguably they'd have been better starting completely from fresh rather than just keeping him. How they gel as a panel is the important thing - and at the moment I can't see their being much chemistry between any of them.

How many Danni Minouge hits can you name?

Shes had a fair few hits and out of Cheryl, Dannii, Tulisa and Nicole, she is by far the most successful at the time of joining the panel.

Because you do not base the decision on which people to have on how successful they've been. There is a lot more to it than that. After all, the premise of the show is that the contestants are mentored by the judges, so personality is a HUGE factor.

If Kelly Rowland had a personality suitable for the show we would've heard a lot more from her than we have over the last 10 years.

Tulisa on the other hand, is an inspired choice. She is warm, personable, current and most importantly, there are very low expectations generally so there is no chance she will disappoint.
