Whoa, alright! well provide a YouTube link to that version or something before biting our heads off. Rolling Eyes

Surely your keyboard is working, love?

People are saying that Leon is forgettable - IMO his version of the song was the best, and he has some sort of spark to his voice that I'd quite like to hear more from in future.

I completely agree Leon's version was the best (as did most people here) - but that's just one song.

Rhydian should be much more marketable in a Katherine Jenkins / Russell Watson type of way, while Leon will suffer from attempts to mould him into something more marketable than he actually is.

I hope not!

Both of those singers have voices which come from completely the wrong places. Katherine Jenkins particularly - lovely woman, but a terrible terrible singer. True they're marketable, but they sound as good as two random blokes clanging bin lids together.

And there are still tickets for Stomp! available...

Talking of Katherine Jenkins - she did completely ruin the duet with Rhydian.

Jason Donovan was just pointless - a duet with a duo was never going to work.

The only one that worked at all was with Kylie - mainly as Kylie seemed to know her place and let Leon do his job.

Amen. They needed Leona to win and show The X Factor was capable of finding brilliant talent but it's kinda backfired....you have a lot to beat now.

Leon is too emotional in my opinion, when they're doing the video they will have to do a million takes because he carries on breaking down in tears after everyline! Laughing

I agree - Rhydian will have much benefit now he hasn't one - I can imagine him with a nice place in the West End.

Was surprised though... I had Leon down for third...

I just hope The Pogues tell the X Factor to **** off and take the Number One place that it deserves!

Well what a travesty. Leon's not all that bad, but he's nothing compared to Rhydian and he certainly didn't deserve to win up against him. But it's OK because he's such a pathetic baby he cries at everything (how old is he, 18?!) so that'll get all the mums (and haven't we heard about his own mum enough...), grandmas, teenage girls, oh, and Scottish people voting too. The British public have ruined this year's X Factor - nobody else.

Rhydian will, without a doubt, be the eventual winner, so I guess it's not that important, but it would have been nice to see him win.

Incidentally the arrangement of "When You Believe" is quite similar to the version that was done by Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston. Can't say I've ever heard the film version.

I don't think it was a travesty that Leon won. Leon will have a few hit records, then maybe decline like most pop stars. Rhydian, on the other hand, had a future assured for him anyway - he will end up in the west end. I certainly won't go to see him in anything - and I don't hope to work with him either!

The film version is infinitely better. A beautiful song ruined by firstly Babyface (producer) and then by X Factor.

Yes I take your point that Rhydian needed to win less than Leon, but I still think it would have been nice for the better singer to be rewarded.

I think Rhydian is actually a very good performer and I would pay to watch a show he was in. And only the other day I was criticising someone for booking tickets to see Joseph!

As for working with him, can't say I'd turn it down - bottom line is that one wants to work with good people and he certainly fits into that category for me.
