I thought Alisha was awful tonight to be honest - though it pisses me off the final judge moans they have to make a terribly difficult decision, yet always do rather than using the get-out clause of sending it to deadlock.

Same Difference though do really annoy me now - as in it really annoys me that I seem to want them to get through each week. I think the appealing thing is though that what you see is what you get.

Hope and the remaining girls and boys are just being moulded into what the judges want them to be while with Same Difference they've been allowed to get on with it and be themselves.

I am of course assuming neither of them are classically trained opera singers! Wink

They kept referring to the half way point tonight - any confirmation yet of when the final will be?

I'd assume to get the single out before Christmas it would be 15th December, meaning three shows left until the final - so hopefully they'll opt for three in the final rather than a double elimination as I felt the final dragged alot last year with just the two acts. Three acts give it a much better structure.

This wasnt Alisha's best performance, but then they were all quite rubbish tonight so I dont think she should be in the bottom 2.

I wonder if they will ever go to deadlock and have to send home the person who had the lowest with the public vote.

Well if tonight was the half way point that means we have another 4 shows (making 9 live shows in total) so yes the final will be the 15th December.

What point in the series are the results are based solely on the public's votes? I know it happens towards the end, but when?

1 more judges vote which is next week then from there on in it is down to the public. That is also the point where they make white promo shots which they have done in series 2 and 3.

Well I see simon has came to his senses and said the themes everyweek are crap! He commented this during xtra factor and says they might change next weeks theme... can't remember what it was...anybody know?

Poor old Alisha. She sang a bit flat and those roller-skaters didnt help!

She was much better second time around and unsurprisingly the dancers were dropped!

She should still be in. Hope were worse than her and Hope had backing vocals better than they were, and second time around it was just Alisha and the microphone.

Motown next week.

It's been changed to love songs now. Simon changed it after he branded disco week as an "absolute disaster". He said Mowtown was too narrow a choice. Maybe the first admittance that the themes just aren't working?

Or maybe that Motown will probably suit the likes of Beverley and Nikki (and the boys for that matter) more than Simon's own groups.

I assume it's still just the one song each this week before they perform twice the week after - when hopefully the themes will take a back seat.

I can see a return to form from Niki. I hope so anyway.

Song Choices:

Beverley Trotman – Without You
Niki Evans – The Power of Love
Same Difference – Nothing's going to To Stop Us Now
Rhydian Roberts – Somewhere
Leon Jackson – You Don't Know Me
Hope – Hurt

Good choice for both of Louis' acts and Hope.
