bad bad bad itv - reducing the age limit to 14!!?? honestly, a £1 mil recording contract at that age, thats really bad. 16 was a good age to start the categories.

As I said, a lot of teens want to make a break in the industry, and some are actually good, so it's not a bad idea. I think they've worn out all over 16's who would even think of going on the show, so we need something new.

I think Vernon Kay would make a good presenter for the X Factor, as he's a lively presenter with some music industry experience (being a presenter on Radio 1).

The Sun said that Cat Deeley is favourite to take over from Kate.

I don't really mind who it is-

I think it should be Holly Willoughby with Stephen Mulhern on Xtra Factor- just not Ben shephard!

Favourite with who? The Sun? hahahaha. Sorry.

I think Simon Cowell himself should do the honours and then introduce a panel of broadcasting experts to judge him after every link! Wink

Actually - could be on to something there. Why not have a fifth category - host!

There is some talk of Chris Moyles being a new judge. He has X-Factor 'form' in that he was on the celeb version.

Are they dropping the mentoring aspect of the show, because as far as I understand Louis Walsh will be working with the eventual winner, whoever it is.

Surely the element of the judges supporting their own acts made it more interesting ?

They would still support the acts in their category I assume as its within their interest to win the series.

I'd quite like him to do it. He did say he'd consider it if he was asked, so you never know.

As for hosts, it's a tricky one. But I'd hate for it to be Vernon or Cat.

I wouldnt like Chris Moyles as a judge to be honest. I hope its Paula from American Idol.

As for the host, i wouldnt mind either Vernon or Cat but I think itd prefer Cat.

Chris Moyles - major ego problem. It would turn into the Chris Factor, with jokes about him, and everything and anything a singer does relating to himself.

Cat Deely - has not charmed the public by turning her back on British television. The silly wannbe had no hope in America to start with, and I hope she comes back to the UK with her tail between her legs and never gets hired for a presneting job again.

Fearne Cotton - far too omnipresent on television/radio. Basically the female Vernon Kay.

Vernon Kay - this has not been mentioned, but if someboy does mention him as a contender I may become part of a group suicide.

Nobody - In my opinion, nobody can really replace Kate without the format of the show becoming totally unrecognisable. Was she sacked or did she leave? Whhy did she leave or why was she sacked?

Just to add... really bad idea reducing the audition age to 14. There's really no point as a sixteen year old (AFAIK) has never made it to the live rounds. They're always told they're too young (so why the hell they allow 16 year olds to enter is beyond me) or they wouldn't do well in the live rounds...

I don't know if Vernon would do the show, he is often supporting Tess appearing in at least one episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
