The X Factor

Is it me or does the X Factor seem more... American??? Dermot going into the audience to ask who their favourites were seemed like a scene from Americas got Talent whilst the voice over man seems to add a boxing style to the show.

The screens in the background are not too bad but the smaller ones which are narrower (to the side of the centre stage) seem squashed and unnecessary. The show does not seem to have the same dramatic feeling it did last year and with Simon saying we wouldn't recognize it this year I would have expected more changes apart from the presenter and new judge. The changes could have included new graphics or at least straps or titles or a new set making it more dramatic and enticing.

I also did not understand the constant graphic saying 'Brian Friedman, Choreographer Whatever ' on every single video clip.

The change to the walkway behind the judges seems a shame as well as it was used to walk all the way round last time but now seems awkward for choreography.

Hope the general feeling of the show improves over the series as so far it just seems another been there done that format. Rant Over.

I thought Dermot was excellent presenting this show. Better than Kate Thornton IMO, and there seems to be more interaction between then host and judges/audience now.

As for as we know the bottom 2 will work the same as in previous series with them having to sing again and then the judges voting them off. How this will work in the event of a tie I dont know.

Predictions for bottom 2 - Same Difference and Leon. Hope Same Difference go. They are the only act I dont really like at the moment. I agree with Louis Walsh for once, I dont know why Simon put them through. Wasnt keen on Leon's performance either but I do like him.

I really like both the boyband and girlband. The guy in the boyband who said he couldnt look in the mirror as he has issues with his looks or something - is he serious? He's the best looking of them all!

I wasnt too bothered about the end credits not changing either.

Looks like Dermot's doing a good job considering he seems to be suffering with a sore throat.

Rhydian is in...surprise surprise.

Sharon apparently quitting now...stropping off in a huff. Makes this show a complete joke to be honest.

Sharon's publicity strop screws up their deadlock situation as Kimberley was sent home with just 2 votes despite Dermot claiming three judges need to agree.


And considering all the premium rate scandals, there could be a question mark over the result - even if the obvious thing to do in the event of a judge not voting is to take the majority.


Anyhow - so as always in these competitions, it's first one on, first one out!

Yet again the person who performed first was in the bottom 2.

And again Sharon refuses to vote in the final showdown when 2 of her acts are in the bottom 2.

It seems a tad late for kids still to be up at 22:55 on a Saturday night.

Also I wonder what ITV2 filled with whilst they waited for the XFactor results to finish on ITV1?

Xtra Factor will finish near midnight tonight!

Oops..jeez the Rugby atmosphere seems to have been brought into the X Factor studio tonight thats for sure. Dreary.

Simon and Sharon are probably at hammer and tongs in the green room now. Well, probably not but you know.
