I loved last years set, it was great. I hope theres something like that but bigger! I heard something about the fact they wanted more audience space, so if they keep to the same size studio, the stage etc will be, I presume, smaller?

Well Fountain have upped their audience space to 1000...

I assume that's the reason Cowell was persuaded to stay put.

I doubt they'll change the titles or graphics this time - or the set that dramatically.

I didn't like last years set really at all - far too American Idol for my liking, as the show has become too.

The first years set was the best IMO - though they could have done with a bigger stage.

I love the studio tweaks!

To be honest, I haven't noticed any.. were you being sarcastic or do I not pay attention? Laughing

It looks worse than last year IMO.

I've always rated Dermot O'Leary, but I've felt all series he has not justified his appointment. We said wait to the live shows, but he just seems quite awkward - and someone seems to have superglued the mic to his chin.

Also thought it was a bad move not to introduce all the acts on stage at the beginning - and they seem to be cutting straight from VT to performance in most cases too.

As for the new appointments - quite funny how they're trying to make Brian Friedman out to be important as "creative director" - though he is probably doing more work with the acts than the actual judges. The additional mentors seem to be out of the show though now, especially with the midweek Xtra Factor shows gone.

Danni though is finally getting to prove herself as a judge by not being left on the cutting room floor - and doing a good job.

It all seems a bit awkard and watching it when there is still daylight outside is strange too Very Happy

Also why can't Dermot intro the acts rather than the VO guy? VO guy sounds out of place in live show!

Notice the lines close tonight at 9pm, so I guess the results will be recorded and played out whatever time the rugby finishes.

Actually for once the judges seem pretty spot on - IIRC last year I completely disagreed with them throughout the show.

Dermot actually did his first useful thing in defending Leon for taking a risk after the judges criticised others for being too safe - but shut up far too quickly when Simon said he didn't make sense - (aka I've given you this job so don't show me up!)

Is it me or does the guy in Same Difference looks like a younger clone of H from Steps?

Anyway, here we go again.. Louis and Simon bickering, although Louis is probably getting his own back on Simon for having a go at him about some of his acts last year..same old.

I really hate the way they skip from intro VT to the act, instead of having that tense music.

Meh! Voiceover guy Rolling Eyes

Dermot's alright. He isn't really doing anymore then Kate did but he's doing what he has to to far better and without being patronizing.

Some horrific performances so far though. Laughing

Rhydian - talented wanker seems the best way to sum him up!

Any word yet on how the Judges Showdown will work - or if they've dropped it?
