Quite good choices tonight but Rhydian is still hideous.

Shameless plugging of a new Leona Lewis song over the 'Overs' telling their families the news - have to say it sounded stunningly powerful.

Not to mention previous winners songs "Thats My Goal" (Shayne Ward) and "A Moment Like This" (Leona Lewis) also played tonight Wink

Good choices apart from that brother and sister double act - quite surprised Simon put them through considering he hated them in their audtion. They are so annoying.

I know! Such shameless plugging Very Happy Not to mention the countless Westlife songs, Girls Aloud song etc.

I think Same Difference are good though, they are sweet.

Strong ratings for both shows but next week SCD will be allowed to take the lead when XF takes a week off.

That's true. Fortunately I can see ITV doing very well for the rest of the evening with the rugby. Doesn't really help XF though.

Should be interesting to see how it goes tonight. A lot of people have complained about SCD's results moving to Sunday - especially since it was pre-recorded and a lot of forums already have the result. It might be another close one.

Why such bias towards X Factor? Just curious mind...

Because I'm an X Factor fan? I may be a little bit biased but I'm hardly going to start rooting for a show I don't watch.

I watch the X Factor and dont watch SCD, but I really couldnt care less which show gets the higher ratings.

Good for you? I just take an interest in them - it's not life or death.

I never said it was. Rolling Eyes

I was just saying, in my opinion, I do not care about the ratings as long as I enjoy the show thats the main thing. For all I care SCD could be beating it in the ratings - thats the producers worry not the viewers.

I cant imagine Same Difference being stars and having a number 1. The girl is ok but the guy is so annoying.

Surely the use of music from Simon and Louis's stable is very questionable considering product placement is banned?

Admittedly I skipped over most of the audition episodes this year and only picked it up at boot camp, but there really isn't anyone who shines in the final line up - it all seems quite bland and safe really.

And though the forming of groups from the axed solo stars was a neat twist, it's quite questionable that out of all he groups who auditioned, only one qualified for the live shows.

What is happening with the judges vote this year then - will they just pretend Danni isn't there as they've done so far?

P.S. It'll also be interesting to see how Dermot handles the live shows. Personally I don't think so far he's proved that it was right to replace Kate with him.

I found it a bit sucky that ITV decided to repeat Saturdays show at 5:15pm on Sunday, makes you wonder why anyone bothered watching Saturday when they could have just watched today with the results 30 minutes later!

Out of the finalists, I really like Andy, Niki and Alisha. I can't believe Dannii chose Rhydian, though - if he's still in the contest 3 weeks into the live shows, I'll be surprised.

I'd like to go on record as predicting Daniel to win.

As much as I wanted the young lad to go through before this weekend, after seeing him break down when just being interview about how much he wanted to go through (before he'd auditioned), I don't think he's ready for the amount of stress the finals cause.

That said, if Disney ever wanted to do a High School Musical UK, he'd be ideal (very Disney sounding voice).

I think out of who's left, i'd say final members from each group are gonna be Hope, Niki, the scottish guy under 24 and then tbh the girls under is a tad disappointing. Maybe Emily though.

As an anti-reality/talent show viewer I never watch X Factor but I wondered if "Against All Odds" (Steve Brookstein) was mentioned, since Shayne and Leona have been.

Funnily enough, they used the Westlife and Mariah Carey version.

I reckon that was intentional - bit of a kick in the teeth for Steve.
