Fearne Cotton? A brilliant host?

Personally she annoys me with her ego-filled "hip" ness.

Same here. Dermot's a great choice though.

I think what Brekkie is hinting is the future of the contestants who win. Why don't we hear from Leona, Shayne Ward and Steve Brookstein anymore?

Its all, like with many talent shows, just become 'entertainment of the moment' now.

Well, I wasn't but I agree completly.

Leona has vanished in the same way Shayne Ward did despite the promises from Cowell and co. that they would be the next Justin Timberlake/Mariah Carey.

Turns out they are just the next Steve Brookstein!

The truth is out of all these shows only Will Young and Slags Aloud have had anything you could call a career.

Isn't Leona in America writing her new album? Confused

Shayne Ward (if he is your cup of tea), has his 2nd album coming out in August.

Surely you dont expect these people to become the next Justin Timberlake or Mariah Carey overnight? Its been barely 6 months since Leona won the X Factor - give her a chance.

As for Shayne Ward - well he will never be another Justin Timberlake IMO.

Leona is already forgotten though - I've heard nothing of her since December apart from her being sent over to America.

She may be writing a new album or whatever, but the truth is with an annual show like The X Factor, she's already last years news and Simon Cowell will be making outrageous promises to someone else this year.

Yeah and usual Simon lingo.. "You're the best singer I've ever heard" to the next winner etc etc.

I did think Leona was the best out of all series of X Factor so far - its a shame she's not in public spotlight at the moment.

I think you have to look at the prize as a shot at the big time personaly.

Maybe you should wait for Leona's debut album. I think she would have received more criticism had she released a rushed album full of second-rate songs and covers. She's recording her album in America - a good album takes time to make.

Absolutely spot on. Leona should have had a follow up track in January to keep her in the public eye. The main focus come the Autumn will be the new 'talent' not last years has beens.

Speaking of which remember Eaton Road? Louis Walsh promising a record contract when they were booted off the X Factor? Never happened did it? I hear they are now performing at universities and the like - at a recent concert the audience were seen booing and throwing items at them on stage - oh dear!
