This article states that Dermot will not be hosting BBLB

The Sun :

BIG Brother star Dermot O’Leary is to be the new host of X Factor after landing a £1million contract. Dermot, 33, signed a two-year deal to replace Kate Thornton after being wooed by X Factor bosses, including judge Simon Cowell.

He said last night: “I was very flattered to be offered the job of hosting such a hugely successful show. I’m really looking forward to working with Simon and the team on the kind of show I grew up watching.”

The former DJ from Essex had been the bookies’ favourite for the job since Kate was sacked three weeks ago, along with judge Louis Walsh.

The move means Dermot will NOT be back to host his Channel 4 spin-off show Big Brother’s Little Brother this summer. Instead he will be filming with the X Factor team from May. It comes after he originally said he would REFUSE to take over from friend Kate as he wanted to remain loyal to her.

ITV entertainment boss Duncan Gray said last night: “Dermot is a star, he’s warm, clever and funny and he was our No 1 choice for the job. We’re thrilled to have him on ITV and we’re sure he’ll keep X Factor the nation’s No 1 entertainment show for many years to come.”

Yet others state he will. I can't see him doing both myself, even just for one year.

I'm not into the American Idolise of the show at all either - they ruined the series last year with the themed weeks which seriously limited some of the contestants and ruined the strength of the show - which was the diversity of the acts, not 12 people doing the same type of song!

Wouldn't want to see either of the American Idol judges either - nothing personal, well, actually it is regarding Paula - but it's a British show and the British industry and British audience is different.

However, as Simon loved to tell us all at every opportunity last year, the Brits have far less respect for talent than the Americans - though the only people to blame for that are the stupid record managers who sign up the likes of the Teletubbies!

In all due respect,

X Factor is a load of F***ing rubbish. Why can't ITV simply put on decent programming like Primevel, "NOW" that was money well spent. All £6million pounds of it.

But TV should get rid of this Reality TV, I much prefer to get out a DVD of all of my old CULT 1960's TV Series. Like Randall and Hopkirk or The Champions.

Several million people would seem to disagree with you on your opinion of X Factor. Sorry.

He's brought up a very valid point though, just what is the point of The X Factor?

Em, to entertain millions every Saturday night? To bring more money in for ITV?

Well exactly, it is extremely popular, especially with younger people, therefore brings in a lot of lucrative advertising. People constantly seem to forget that ITV is a business.

Even the BBC recognise the value of these programmes, hence they appear to have had singnificantly more of this genre in the schedule since the start of the year than ITV have.

Alan Carr should do BBLB not BBBM, that show should be dumped, RB made it bareable, without him its a bad show that runs out of ideas in a week anyway. Just have Ac do BBLB and it'll be fine

I definitely think Alan Carr would do great on BBLB, and maybe if BBBM is sticking round, get Justin Lee Collins to do that?
