That's him out of Brookside Shocked

I knew I recognised him from somewhere!

So we had yet another pushy mother in tonights show going in there after the audition and demanding her daughter be put through!

I love the new-style 'X' thats on the front of the desk...all silver and red and blue, looks very nice - I'd be surprised if the new graphics weren't along those lines!

There was a guy who did well on tonight's show with strange frizzy hair, kinda like Sideshow Bob's. I'm sure I saw him coming out of Charing Cross station on Thursday afternoon...

Don't get your hopes up! Surely if they had a new graphics package for the live shows, they'd have introduced it at the beginning of the series.

If STV have any sort of promotional bone in their body they'll make the most of the fact the Glasgow auditions are on next week. It can't cost that much to get some footage from the network and make their own ad - but I'll lay odds on they just use the standard adverts provided by network centre. This is after all the station that completely failed to make any promotional gain out of Michelle McManus getting to the final, letting Radio Clyde take all the publicity with their signs instead.

They didn't even use the network idents featuring Michelle McManus and Mark off of Sam and Mark did they?

That was Pop Idol by the way!

There will be a new set and new graphics for the show.

Andrew - you're right, and you're right. They didn't use the network idents at the time, presumably because Scottish were still on the first set of celebrity idents while ITV had refreshed, and they thought they would have looked out of place. Or that they couldn't be arsed re-editing them. One way or another though it was a really bad miss.

And it was Pop Idol - d'oh.

Simon Cowell said the live shows would be totally redesigned, new set and new graphics.

I saw a bit of 'America's Got Talent' over in the USA last week. At the time I didn't realise it was a Cowell show, the judges were being introduced then Piers Morgan appeared - I didn't know where I was. Laughing

What I want to know is why there seems to be no auditions in Cardiff this year? Irish and Scottish cities have auditions so why not the capital of Wales? I know someone who auditioned and she had to go to Bristol.

Welsh auditions were held in Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester (I think)

This week's wasnt as good as last weeks but I found the ITV2 Xtra Factor to get better each week and it was better than the ITV1 counterpart! At least Ben Shephard gets involved on ITV2 - you don't see any of Kate Thornton on ITV1 (which might be a good thing!)
