With regards to "Britain's Got Talent", I'm hoping Cowell won't be using Piers Morgan as one of the judges. He had a purpose on "America's Got Talent" but don't think he'll have the same effect here.

What was his purpose there?

I think that Piers Morgans appearance on the show is a certainty.

This was in The Sun last week :

Cowell will give his verdict along with two of the judges from the US series, journalist Piers Morgan and former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. A fourth judge who would be female is also being considered .

Well I'd say American's saw him as the "typical boring british guy" etc

Honestly, if Cowell is using Hasselhoff as well, he may as well bring Regis Philbin over as host. Rolling Eyes

Any future series of The X Factor should be scheduled away from Christmas. With the current slot, you know damn well the winner will get the Christmas number one, which is hardly fair to anyone else.

Maybe they should just move Christmas.

That's life. Winter's also when the most viewers are at home, especially in the lead-up to Christmas to ratings will be very high.

Doesn't seem Cowell's style to be honest. I think he'll pull something good out of the bag.

It works well for both Simon and ITV. Like cdukjunkie said, in the current slot it will achieve great ratings and also Christmas is when the most singles are sold so it means more money for Cowell.

I personally like it where it is and it shouldn't be moved IMO.

But that doesn't change the fact it's anti-competitive as far as the charts are concerned.

It's not like it's compulsary to buy the singles, you know.

As excellent as Leona is, it does seem that she has an advantage at the Christmas number one. Dont get me wrong, she is fantastic and I wanted her to win so much and she deserves to be number 1.

Perhaps if followed the same format as Pop Idol 1 - maybe start the show 6 weeks later (end of Sept instead of Mid August) and let it run until Mid February. It would still be on air during the vital Nov/Dec Christmas advertising period.
