According to the ITV NEWS website its 20 million. If you've got your TV on switch onto the ITV NEWS now.. as a report on Leona winning the X Factor is coming up.

I think they meant 20 million across the two shows. 10 million each maybe?

Nothing against you David, just not too keen to believe DS just yet! Laughing

Fair enough, although personally I think you're aiming too high if you think it will get anymore.

Im so glad Steve Brookstien is slagging of this show on BBC Radio right now. Its all stage managed. Im glad Leona won, but will she still be around in 2 years time? Rolling Eyes

Well she should be, not that there's any guarantee she will be. She certainly has a hugely greater chance of standing the test of time than Steve and Shayne Ward though.

Yes she certainly has a good chance of making it unlike previous winners.

WOW 20 million viewers - thats excellent ratings!

It's not 20 million, it'll be high, but not that high, it's 2006 not 1986

I know, thats why I changed it to 12 million - it was a typing error Embarassed

Yep the ratings must have been brilliant - if 8-9 million people just voted, imagine how high the figures will be!

Well, despite what Kate says that's the number of votes - not the number of voters. You could probably half that!

As for ratings - double figures are few and far between nowadays - scrapping past the 10m mark will be considered a huge success!

P.S. Don't know if anyone mentioned it but they had an ad for "Britain's Got Talent", which runs next Spring and is set to be hosted by Ant and Dec with Cowell as one of the judges.

Basically The X Factor but with non-singing acts also included.

Romily Weeks just said "Welldone Leona" at the end of the ITV News bulletin.

It reminds me of the time they used to report on the winner of I'm A Celebrity. Rolling Eyes

Lacklustre in terms of the competition - SCD managed to get over a million more viewers than X Factor last week - and I'm sure the live shows been slightly down on Series 2, apologies if I'm wrong though.

It's always best to wait for the consolidated BARB ratings, they sometimes tell a different story. The start of the live shows this year were down on series 2, however throughout November the live shows this year were rating higher than last year.

Thanks SE. I haven't all the facts so admittedly I was making an assumption based on what I've seen. But if they were higher during the latter part of the series than that's great news.

With regards to "Britain's Got Talent", I'm hoping Cowell won't be using Piers Morgan as one of the judges. He had a purpose on "America's Got Talent" but don't think he'll have the same effect here.
