My main problem with Kate is that her role has been cut down slightly - for example linking between the judges when they give their comments.


Also, did Kate used to the intros at the beginning or has it always been the voiceover bloke?


She used to do the intro's but IMO the voiceover is better.

What is interesting is that does Kate Thornton actually do anything else during the year other than the X Factor? I know she did a segment for Holiday earlier this year and that she IS a journalist, so maybe she writes for magazines or something?

Im sure she does present other things but not often. She is presenting that Viewer of the Year thing by the looks of it.

Ah yes, she is. I was shocked to find out Kate is 33. I had her down as early twenties and always thought she was very young. She doesn't sound that old.

She's been around a few years. Before Pop Idol Extra (which began in 2001) she presented a dating/cooking show called Dishes for C4 (late nineties I think) and was the youngest ever editor of Smash Hits.

I didnt realise she was 33 either. First I saw her was Pop Idol extra in 2001 and then 2003 so I thought she was mid to late 20s.
