Probably have x factor on at about 6 ish, then family fortunes.

I'd also have afterlife after the x factor results, leading into parky

similar to what it is now

I'd do it like this

4:50 Regional News
5:05 ITV Weekend News
5:20 All Star Family Fortunes - 20 mins to have a decent audience
6:10 The X Factor - Only half an hour would be against SCD
7:40 Who wants to be a Millionaire? - Head to head with 1 vs 100
8:40 The X Factor: Result
9:20 ITV Weekend News - opposite the SCD results so it doesn't effect the ratings of other programmes
9:35 Afterlife
10:35 Parkinson
11:35 It Shouldn't happen to...
12:35 ITV Play

I'd probably agree with that. Ideally, new shows need to be commissioned, and Millionaire needs to go - but yes, when it comes to making the best of what you've got, I'd agree with your schedule.

The real problem on Saturdays is Afterlife IMO - it just doesn't fit into the schedule.

They do really though need another presenter led entertainment type format to fill the gap when Ant and Dec aren't on. I guess they've just got to find the presenter first!

Andrew's schedule seems better. One thing that annoys me is this desire to squeeze everything in so early in the evening. Having regional news at 16:25 is absurd as it means it can't feature the afternoons football results, surely one of the main reasons for the bulletin on a Saturday.

I dont know why you keep saying that. There is plenty of room in the schedule for it. 2 hours after the X Factor Results before the late news so room for Afterlife and Parkinson

I agree. Its ridiculous that they cant give the full sports results. 5.15pm would be the best time for the regional news, with the national following at 5.30pm and then the evening programmes starting at 5.45pm so if anything doesnt fit into the schedule its ASFF.

Are you referring to the nature of the show? I'd agree. It''s a great, nay, a fantastic drama but perhaps a little too dark for a Saturday night.

But it offers something different for viewers on a Saturday night. Not everyone wants to watch Ant and Dec/X Factor/SCD etc

The female acts always seen to go out first. I dont think we have had a female in the final yet let alone win the show.

Well of course there was Michelle McMassive who won Pop Idol II but I think her total lack of any success after the show speaks volumes about why she got the votes.

It's all about the voting demographic - teenage girls make up a large percentage of the votes, hence why no young attractive talented women have won so far!

I agree. I'm a big fan and I'd choose it over SCD or The X Factor for that matter. But it's not doing the business for ITV, unfortunately.

True, which probabaly explains why the MacDonald brothers are still in as 2 attractive guys, all the teenage girls and gay men are probabaly voting for them.

It seems someone has been listening to you all, this from MG :

"The X Factor is bowing out of its head-to-head ratings battle with Strictly Come Dancing, after coming off second best for the past few Saturday nights.

But this is likely to be bad news for BBC1's Robin Hood - by shifting back nearly an hour to a 6.35pm start time from Saturday November 11 and running through till just after 8pm, The X Factor will go up against the corporation's medieval drama instead.

ITV1's peak time schedule will be bolstered further from Monday November 12, when I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! returns for a new series, launching with a 90-minute show from 9pm.

ITV1 is shifting around its early Saturday evening schedule by swapping The X Factor with Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, which is currently broadcast against Robin Hood from 7.15pm.

From Saturday November 11, Millionaire is to be scheduled for an hour from 5.35pm, pitching it against Strictly Come Dancing.

On the same night All Star Family Fortunes, fronted by Vernon Kay, is in the ITV1 lineup following The X Factor at 8.05pm.

BBC1's early Saturday evening lineup remains Strictly Come Dancing from 5.45pm, with Robin Hood taking over at 7pm and The National Lottery - 1 vs 100 scheduled at 7.45pm.

So Sat 11th Nov listings look like this....
5.05pm - You've Been Framed
5.35pm - WWTBAM
6.35pm - The X Factor
8.05pm - All Star Family Fourtunes
8.55pm - X Factor Results
9.30pm - Afterlife
10.30pm - Parkinson
