After the story in The Sun the other day about Kate possibly being axed and replaced, her and Simon had a bit of a joke about it tonight.

Kate made a comment that she would come to the first of Louis acts shortly as he had only 2 left in the competition. Then with all the laughter Simon said "Kate are you still here?"m, and Kate said laughing "Just about".

From that it makes you think that what was reported in The Sun was rubbish as I think it would be a bit unfair for them to joke about her possibly losing her job live on air. Then on Xta Factor Results, Ben spoke to Kate and he then turned to the audience and said "dont we think shes a star?"

It seems that Kate has tons of support but must make her feel bad reading all that. I personally think Kate is The X Factor, its Like replacing Davina on Big Brother, it just wouldnt work.


I don't think the Davina comparison is a compliment for Kate, but yes I agree I do really like her and thought it was a nice touch with Ben saying that.

Personally I think Kate is a better presenter than Davina.

As for what will happen as a result of losing 2 acts in one week, I expect the show may end a week early so the final is possibly screened around the time when they sell a lot of advertising space for Christmas ads. It would also give them more time for the winner to release their single in time for the Christmas number 1.

I hope they dont have just 2 acts in the final like series 1, its better with 3.

ABBA next week eh?

Someone remind me but then Pop Idol did have ABBA songs in their first series (2001). I'm sure either Simon Cowell or Pete Waterman said on the live show that doing ABBA was a terrible idea, which caused all the acts on the night to sing badly.

I know what you mean, I used Davina and Big Brother as an example to get my point across. I agree that Kate is better than Davina and I thought tonight Kate looked the best she has for a while, not saying she doesnt look nice every week hehehehe.

Ive not looked back to see why you were comparing Kate to Davina but if its about Kates replacement then I doubt Davina would want to go back to singing TV as she did Popstars: The Rivals

Kate looks great every week, but sometimes I dont get her hair Laughing

Good show tonight, shame about Dionne though

Not surprising about Kerry and Dionne.

Simon's coming across as really like he controls the voting, I don't know why... I know the Maccy D's seem invincible but he effectively killed off Kerry and Dionne.

I'm annoyed about his criticisms of Eton Road - I felt they did a good enough job tonight, yet he slated them to hell, which was unjust. I think he sees them as a threat.

Leona was brilliant tonight, outstanding.

I agree with AJA on this one actually - the ratings on ITV2 on Sunday show there are quite a few people who don't watch it live, so a bit of caution in the thread summary wouldn't go a miss.

Very true. Davina couldn't present to save her life. I actually prefer Kate. She may not be the best presenter in the world, but I'd hate to see her replaced.

Despite what everyone thinks, I thought Ray could sing. Yes, he's a smarmy little slimeball but as Simon says.. its a singing competition.

Ashley was awful tonight as were the McDonalds. One of them is incredibly flat.

I liked Ben, Leona and Kerry.

I thought the backstage noise was funny at one point when Simon was talking "What was that..?"
