Its not the same as BB i think as we didnt vote them out, the judges did - we save them.

True but we are still spending out money voting.

Yes, but for people we want to keep, rather than get rid. After the trouble Big Brother got into recently, I don't think they'd attempt to something like that without checking.

Then again, I bet Simon would love the publicity - good or bad.

I suppose so. But I still say they would be wrong to bring someone back, whats the point in voting someone out if they are allowed back? Do they want to worst act to win or something!

A better twist would be 2 people going the same week or the guest judge deciding.

If an act is going back in it's most likely an act that didn't make it to the final stages in the first place. Ie each judge chooses 1 act they didn't put through from their "boot camp" and the viewers vote which one of them is added to the live stages. Or something like that.

I doubt they'd do what 'Big Brother' did after all the flak they - deservedly - got.

I expect they're going to shuffle and redistribute the acts, because otherwise Louis is going to be out in two weeks.

The Sun is today reporting that Kate may be replaced next year. Apparently bosses are interested in getting Dermot O'Leary or Fearne Cotton aboard.

Yeah but for some reason there's this thing in my mind that feels presenters are a little company branded. For me, Fearne Cotton is always a link to BBC, and Dermot always runs C4 through my head.

Which is why I reckon Dermot would work well as a normal BB presenter. Davina could do...er...coffee? And as for Fearne, I think it would be good if she did Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two. That Claude Tinklewoman or whatever her name is really annoys me for some reason.

It didn't stop Fearne doing Love Island or Dermot working for BBC TV and Radio.

Indeed, no matter how your mind perceives it, the days of presenters being tied to a channel are long over, aside from a very small number of exceptions (the Graham Norton fiasco springs to mind).

Personally I think it be good if Fearne Cotton decided on a career change!

It's just a rumour and I doubt there is much truth in it - like last year when they said they weren't happy with Kate so were going to have her co-host with Ben Shepherd this time around.

Most of Kate's links have been cut this year anyhow - rather than Kate controling the judging stage they now just switch from judge to judge to judge to contestant - and only then does Kate appear.

Anyhow, also heard that Paula Abdul will be a guest judge on Saturday night.

Don't know why (is there a free bar?) as she hardly added anything to the audition shows where she sat on the panel.

Oh good, I like Paula. Will be good to have her on the live shows.

Agree with Brekkie though. It seemed Paula was only on the audition panel to play footsie with Simon under the table.

I read on another forum (so probably not true) that the reason Paula was on X-Factor is that American Idol is moving from ITV2 to ITV1 and to get viewers used to her.

I doubt that. Unless it was given a late night slot like Hells Kitchen USA.
