Nope. Complete revamp this year.

Well im sticking by my original prediction that Jonathan will go through to the live shows and win.

And what a great shame if he does win. Average voice, compared to the competition. I can think of five or six people who would deserve to win over him. I am also sick of the producers reminding us about him being a full time carer for his Mum. I'm not going to like his voice any more than I do now.

Being a full time carer for his mum, taking her to hospital appointments, taking her shopping etc etc will win him votes from housewives and elderly, his good looks will win him votes from girls/gay men. I do think he has a good enough voice as well though. Anyway I will probabaly be completely wrong and he wont win, however id be very surprised if he didnt make at least the live shows.

Last year I guessed Shayne Ward would probabaly win, I liked him after his audition and during bootcamp but I went off him during the first few weeks of the live shows and wanted Journey South to win instead!

I hope the lady in the wheelchair makes it through to the live shows, she has an excellent voice and I agree with her when she said people should see past her disability.

What is his mum going to do if he does make it through to the live final? Do they not stay in London during the live shows?

Yes they all move into the same house dont they? Or am I thinking of Popstars the Rivals?

Maybe the show will pay for a carer for his mum?

So IMO it's probably the weakest final line up of all three series this time around. Only two of the 12 acts interest me at all - and I don't really see major potential in either of them.

Ray - he's a good singer, but more stage star than pop star, and The Unconventials, who I'm sure will lose their appeal as Louis Walsh tries to turn them into a "conventional" group.

As for Avenue - I think Louis knows he's lost his biggest asset, and I wonder if they'd been put together by someone other than an ex-X Factor consultant if they'd been disqualified.

Next week's first live show is two hours long from 5.50pm with guest Lionel Richie, with the results in a 30-minute show at 9.05pm.

Im very surprised Jonathan didnt get put through - I expected him to win! Im glad the lady in the wheelchair was put through though, she deserves it.

Glad that the arrogant boyband Avenue were disqualified - they didnt deserve to be there.

Out of the final 12 I like the two brothers - the McDonald Brothers I think they are called.

The other brothers were better though! Also in the groups I thought the sisters who were all mothers should have got through.

Agree with you about Jonathan - Sharron made the same mistake in the first series with a bloke (Andy I think) who was in a similar situation with his dad IIRC - the one who reduced the judges to tears!

I agree that nobody seems to be standing out this year, but I don't think we've seen anyone's best yet, and we haven't really heard individual voices all that much. Ben's show will hopefully be a good opportunity to see the personalities a bit more, a couple of weeks into the live shows and it'll become clear who could win, I think.

Looks like Lionel Richie is the first guest on next week's new 2-hour live show, with results later after Takeaway.

I wonder why they are having a 2 hour show - im sure in the past its only been 1 hour and 10 minutes at the most.

Last year the first few live shows were 1 hour 40 mins as there's obviously a lot of performances to get through

It annoys me, they build up all this emotion, and tense music and for what....? The winner only hits the charts once.

It is odd. Perhaps they want to drag the average ratings up during the latter part when it's not against SCD (this is me assuming X factor will beat Robin Hood).

Well looking at the schedules its head to head with both SCD and Robin Hood. Saturday Night Takeaway has been all over the schedule this year.

As people are voted off I expect the length of the show will reduce however usually when we get to the final they drag it out with each act doing 2 or 3 performances.

Apparently X Factor did quite well last night, considering it had its toughest competition yet. I'm quite confident that it will beat Robin Hood next week. From the comments I've seen in various places, it's not been very well received, and I can't see it being as big as Doctor Who.

I may be wrong of course. Embarassed
