Must say this year may suffer from the opposite problem of last year in that there is absolutely no stand out star at all so far. At the moment there is no one I really want to see progress.
Boot Camp stage - pretty basic formula but in the first show it was all a carbon copy of itself. Acts perform, judges disapointed, judges have a word, acts improve!
Anyhow, thought it was funny at the beginning of the show when Simon is revealed as their mentor by arriving in a helicopter - and Louis is revealed from behind a curtain!
i assume the live shows will be the same to last year.
Nope. Complete revamp this year.

Well im sticking by my original prediction that Jonathan will go through to the live shows and win.
And what a great shame if he does win. Average voice, compared to the competition. I can think of five or six people who would deserve to win over him. I am also sick of the producers reminding us about him being a full time carer for his Mum. I'm not going to like his voice any more than I do now.
Indeed - they do have a nasty habit of playing on people's troubled backgrounds - like the woman in the wheelchair, the woman who was involved in a terrorist attack when she was young etc etc. Also any young mothers bleat on about how they're doing it for their kids and stuff - rubbish!
Anyway it was good to finally see the back of most of the deadwood - although I was shocked to see some frankly awful people get through to the 2nd day of "bootcamp" though, like that old man, the Shirley Bassey impersonator and those 2 awful twins. Fortunately I don't think there's now anybody in the line-up who I would say is awful.
I shall look forward to the live shows though - I am sick of the totally predictable way in which all the programmes have been put together so far. "Things started off badly when..." <insert clip of someone singing badly> "... and it seemed that they set the standard for the rest of the morning..." <montage of bad clips> "... but then when 22-year old Johnny came in, things seemed to look up..." <clip of Johnny singing well> "... and from that point on the standard seemed to raise..." <montage of decent people>.

Being a full time carer for his mum, taking her to hospital appointments, taking her shopping etc etc will win him votes from housewives and elderly, his good looks will win him votes from girls/gay men. I do think he has a good enough voice as well though. Anyway I will probabaly be completely wrong and he wont win, however id be very surprised if he didnt make at least the live shows.
Last year I guessed Shayne Ward would probabaly win, I liked him after his audition and during bootcamp but I went off him during the first few weeks of the live shows and wanted Journey South to win instead!
I hope the lady in the wheelchair makes it through to the live shows, she has an excellent voice and I agree with her when she said people should see past her disability.
Yes, that guy is good in his own right - we don't need the speil about his mum and stuff. Likewise the girl in the wheelchair is good and of course people should look past that.
But it's not just a singing contest and you have to seriously ask yourself whether this country will properly embrace a pop star in a wheelchair. They attempted to go against the mould with Michelle McMannus - and look how successful she was.
I am of course totally against any discrimination but at the same time I do not see that people with disabilities, fat people, ugly people - whatever - should be given any preferencial treatment. Equality works both ways.

Yes they shouldnt be given preferencial treatment but if they are good enough then they should be put through.
That guy with the afro, now it seems the judges think hes this "sensation", but i personally dont think he sounds that great.
Completly agree! He hasn't impressed me once during the Boot Camp stage.
Yes I dont think he is all that either. However he is ok. But the way Simon said he had sailed through to the next round makes me think he will almost certainly be in the live shows.
