The "Beat the Boys" racing segment was dropped though - presumably in response to Richard Hammond's accident this week. Ant and Dec's show though was only just over an hour long in the end - it didn't start till nearly 6.10pm either!
I wondered why that didnt get shown - maybe thats why they cut the show short.

Ooh, underhand tactics tonight with The X Factor starting five mins early (the anno did at least mention that) I guess to scupper what BBC One are up to. Wonder if Ant & Dec were pleased at having five mins shaved over their show?

Did they really need to blur out Sharon's mobile phone on screen when she took the call about who she would be tutoring? I'm fairly sure she was using a Motorola phone, and would suspect Nokia - X Factor sponsors - were none too pleased about it.
I think it backfired as it drew more attention to her using the phone and just looked daft having a big blurry bit on the telly.

So Simon has the 18-24, Sharon the over 25's and Louis the groups - I predict Sharon will win this year as its her turn to win afterall!

Indeed it was a bit pathetic wasn't it - Sharon's phone was a Motorola Razr. It didn't strike me at the time, but later on in the Xtra Factor there was some silly texting sketch which featured closeups of Nokia handsets - it was only then that the penny dropped as to why Sharon's phone had been blulrred!

I think Millionaire needs a bit of a refresh. The graphics and studio are 8 years old and the format is exactly the same.
Why change a winning formula? They've tweaked the titles a bit but nothing else needs changing. There other successful quiz shows that have relaunched to freshen them up have gone down the dumper soon afterwards (I'm thinking Telly Addicts, Catchphrase, Krypton Factor)

Even more reason to show a Motorola phone. It's very naughty indeed to prominately feature Nokia phones in a programme sponsored by Nokia!
Sponsors shouldn't have any say over the content of programmes

Presumably it was dropped before the programme was recorded so they should have been able to pad it out to the full length. The timings on ITV were totally out last night
