Looks like everyone's favourite show The X Factor is returning in 2021. Tickets have gone on sale on the Applause Store. I'm quite surprised as I thought they softly axed the show.
I wonder how the show will look when it comes back? I wonder if Scherzinger and co will be back or Robbie Williams gets another shot.
Celeb and Band was a bit of a disaster. I thought the 2018 series was a bit 'tacky' with going back to the arenas for the auditions and was like BGT-lite with just singing.

What are your opinions?
You have forgotten to say that no dates have been scheduled at all.
I wouldn't take that as any kind of confirmation on The X Factor, I'm pretty sure that link has said the same thing ever since they first announced the show was going on a break back in February.
At this point I do think it is reasonably likely that the show does return in 2021 (on a reduced number of episodes), the leftover episodes of BGT and The Voice will cover some of the slots this year but that won't be an option next year. But I doubt Applause Store know much more than we do at this stage, and given the need for social distancing will most likely extend into next year, if it does return it would surely make sense to return to the closed room audition format and minimise any need for audiences throughout the series.
As others have said, don't read anything into it (or any other show) until dates appear. Saturday Night Takeaway was showing up on there for at least a year whilst it was off-air saying "Dates to be announced soon..."
There is no way they'd film auditions with an audience in the current climate - it's the one stage that doesn't need it (unlike BGT where I think the audience is crucial for auditions).
Assuming X Factor does come back next year, it would be sensible to go back to back-to-basics approach with the room auditions. Maybe even take a leaf out of American Idol's book, until the issues with the live shows due to coronavirus in the recent season, it's stayed pretty much consistant throughout and although past it's peak, still gets a decent audience.

I agree I think American Idol (before COVID) managed to reinvent itself. It doesn't have the audience it had in its peak but has managed to build up a loyal fanbase and consistent judging panel.
X Factor (if it does come back) needs to realise its past the peak and needs to build a loyal audience and to do that needs a consistent judging panel.
Found this neat little gem from Gareth Roberts who created the titles for The X Factor: Celebrity - complete with demo version of the remixed theme tune, which I think is very strong and could be used for future series. Harks back to the original with a slight upbeat and classical update:
Also found this, the full version of The X Factor: The Band titles, ITV wasted a great set of visuals:
I wish it would be just axed, it's well past its sell by date. I'm so tired of these judged singing and dancing entertainment shows, we've got so many of them, when is ITV going to make so decent entertainment like they used many moons ago?
