7 weeks this year, so will likely be double eliminations every week and either 4 making the final weekend or a triple at some stage.

P.S. Some minor tweaks to the stage this year - the scaffolding on the side remains but the judges now returned to a central position with a platform similar to the old set and the back of the stage bought forward creating a bigger performance space.

So, they are continuing with cramming the live shows. Strictly never has double eliminations, and seems to benefit from their 13 week run, whereas it now feels X Factor wants to rush the live shows through as fast as they can.

Really wish they’d refresh the look of the show. I know it’s only aesthetic but the 3D all-caps thing they’re using seems so dated and looks cheap. I’ve said it before but the Aussie version did a great job of taking the look and feel of the show and bringing it more up to date.

Seems their way of addressing the falling ratings for the live shows is to have less of them.

I find it very WordArt.
Brekkie and all new Phil gave kudos

I don't know why they don't follow the BGT format of auditions for a few weeks then have the live shows every night for a week.

Another thing that is damaging the audience figures, is that it's on so late now compared with the old days. It didn't finish until after 10.30 last Saturday - that's too late.

ITV ad sales would have a fit at that idea. Throw away several weeks of slow build pre-Christmas advert airtime, for one huge 'hit' in a week?

If it gets them more money, then yes! I think ITV had made sure the show has been pushed off in the absas because its dire..

The live shows are just too long, especially at the early stages. I appreciate the ad break quota all goes into X Factor but even then, the padding is just rediculous. Nobody is going to hang around until gone 10:30pm on a Saturday night to watch that sort of show.

It used to start as early as 5:30pm!

They're avoiding clashing too much with Strictly, that's why.

I don't see how much worse the ratings can be if they clashed.
