According to Newsbeat it has been confirmed:
BBC Newsbeat posted:
Olly Murs and Caroline Flack will replace Dermot O'Leary as X Factor hosts.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell said of the appointment: "When they were on Xtra Factor together they were a brilliant double act.
"Since then, Caroline's gone from strength to strength and Olly has become one of Britain's biggest stars."

With the hosts of the show now confirmed all eyes will be on who Cowell hires to fill the judges chairs.
The 55-year-old is the only person confirmed as returning to the panel.

Well nobody saw that coming. Hopefully it works well and they're given the freedom to freshen up the live shows as that is where the show has been particularly stale in recent years. Could see Caroline's former TalkTalk area backstage moving front of stage so there is more interaction with contestants throughout the show.

I'm wondering how The Xtra Factor will fit in this year. I wonder if they will take the show in a slightly different direction in tone and content to differentiate between the shows more now that Caroline and Olly have taken over and also drop some episodes when they have to do everything on a Sunday?

Perhaps they will air Saturday specials of The Xtra Factor in a tweaked format for the weeks when there are no Saturday main show also?

I do hope they replace Sarah Jane as though she was fine on the pre-recorded shows she was awful on the live shows. At the very least she'd benefit from a co-presenter to fill those awkward silences, but I can't see them going for a duo now Caroline and Olly are on the main show.

Well seeing as the thread was locked without anyone having posted it in here in the first place, Simon Cowell has hinted on Twitter that Louis Walsh is being replaced.

The Xtra Factor has felt a bit lost for the last few years. I think they should just drop it at this point.

I agree. I think that the people that the Xtra factor appealed to at its peak are the same audience the new series is aiming at, having the likes of Olly and Carroline presenting, and rumoured Nick Gimshaw on the panel. Could be interesting to see the show. Especially after, for the first time in a long time, audition filming seems to have been changed up with the lights behind the X and stage that Olly and Carroline filmed intros from!

X factor could be interesting, re. Format and presentation changes!! Smile
