I expect this will be the last time the final comes from Wembley. It will become harder to justify the cost in the future with the ratings the way they are.

X Factor really is that poor old animal that needs put out of its misery.

ITV have suggested that The X Factor will be shown alongside The Voice.

So to me that means Britian's Got Talent, The Voice and The X Factor will be the main talent shows over 2017.

Talent show overload.

The Voice Kids will also air on ITV from 2017.

So the grand finals is this weekend. As if one 2 hour (and 5 minutes) show on Saturday night for the three remaining acts isn't long enough there's another 2 hour show tomorrow night. Whilst I appreciate there will be a number of guest stars/acts performing it strikes me as being far too long, and will inevitably be heavily padded out. Surely 90 minute programmes would have been more than enough, and would still need to be padded out a bit.

They have really piled on the guest stars this year though - the final itself really is just a side show. It does look like they'll be more performances over the weekend than there probably have been for the last couple of years, so at least it'll be padded with content rather than recaps.

It takes two nights to decide a winner or is this just another ratings gimmick?

Scheduling is no different than any other year.

It's like Simon Cowell is loosing hes way, surely he is in denial if he thinks the show is still doing great. I know its been said over and over again but I believe people are really getting fed up of it now. Even if it shakes up its judges again or brings back louis walsh next year, its just going to make the show even more desperate than it already is. The only way I could see this working if it has a rest for a few years and then just airs every 2 years, but even then I wouldn't of thought ITV would do that and now they got The Voice, that's going to be there main focus. I'm quite surprised that there not going to axe the show considering they have the voice, surely people are going to get even more frustrated which wont help there "new" show. Surely BGT, The voice, the voice kids and x factor cant all survive .

It still has one more year.

I'm still certain X Factor's next series will be the last, for the following reasons:

1. Ratings
2. Negative reviews
3. Simon's personal life and commitment to both US and UK editions of Got Talent.

ITV are fine leaving a decision on the show's future till next year, but should start focusing on getting a contract with Cowell for BGT only.

I'd be happy to see BGT go in the same direction frankly. I've always enjoyed it simply because of the variety aspect and I don't find the judges as loathsome as those on The X Factor. But I've gradually started to become annoyed by the typical Cowell features - drama amongst the judges, genuinely entertaining acts losing to a barely talented child or a novelty sh*t person, and the convenient comments from audience members that totally aren't set up yo...

It should also be noted that not only did the ratings for yesterday's X Factor sink lower than the 6m it's been getting (despite being the final) but it was the lowest rated final in its history...

I haven't watched the X Factor in the last few years but Simon Cowell and everyone else involved in the shows press comments annoy me more than anything. Simon has said constantly this year they are getting 10 million viewers which is not true as they are getting about 6 million and Simon is the only one who mentions ratings and how they would win the ratings battle as they don't have Peter Andre, Strictly have beaten the show the last 4 years or something like that and you don't hear much from the BBC or anyone on the show apart from Craig Revel Horwood. The thing that annoys me if I do catch it is the same thing no matter who presents it or who judges with the terrible acts, same bland winners, fake judge tension etc. and I think it reached its peak in 2010 and has gone downhill ever since and has nearly got to the stage where the axe will fall after the final series in 2016
harshy and Larry the Loafer gave kudos

The ideal scenario would be to move BGT to the autumn and run it on Saturday nights rather than strip it. I appreciate that screws the Royal Variety thing though.

The issue this year is producer desperation to get Louisa to the win has harmed the franchise long term.
