X Factor seems to be going pink this year if the image from boot camp and the new backdrop from 'The Room' are anything to go by.

I don't get what they are doing the trailer gives the impression "all out war" whilst pink is typically a softer colour and certainly creates a more friendly approach. Do not like the new pink take although I don't expect it to continue into the live shows.

That's similar to The X Factor USA from the second season, I was not a fan of it then and not now. The show suits the darker red and blues they've been using up until now.

Was the series 3-6 set the one that had the dot matrix style ticker announcing who was about to perform? I don't remember seeing it in recent series.

That's the one. The longer, thinner and shorter stage. I just don't think that it made as big of an impact as the originals (1&2) and 6+.

In terms of design it was modern in comparison, but the lack of a big grand stage was the downfall for me.

Did they not create this thinner set to get a higher amount of audience members in?

I always thought it had more than a hint of American Idol about it. That set was rotated in the studio a different way to the original and recent sets.

I also liked the vertical screens and lights on the wings last year. Mixed it up. I do prefer the pink to the all blue arena images, but I'm not a fan on it in the rooms. Also is there a screen behind the X this year because there are people behind it. Or is this an after effect for the ad- which I haven't seen yet!!

The audition room?
It's images of previous winners and successful contestants. You've got Leona Lewis, Joe McEldery, JLS, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, Olly Murs and Little Mix, and possibly more that we can't see.

They're classing Joe McEldery as one of their most successful contestants?

Well he won The Jump I suppose...

Some CBBC show was taking the p**s out of him the other day when mentioning how famous Olly Murs is compared to Joe..

I imagine he's there as a winner. No sign of Steve Brookstein or Leon Jackson anywhere though.

Or James Arthur and Matt Cardle. I've always enjoyed how they blank out bits of their history when they try and be nostalgic.
