I went to the London auditions this year and there were two notable moments that suggested they don't bring 5 seconds:
The first was when a man sang something and Gary asked if he had anything more "upbeat" and then boy was a bit flustered and Gary said "you were going to do Jessie J for us" and the boy said "oh yeah" and then Gary said "I think we need a second song, what do you have for us?" and the boy said "Jessie J".
And the second was a man who was really, really awful. I think he sang Night Fever in a fake Bee-Gees voice. Really woeful stuff. Off the back of it, the judges didn't say anything at all, didn't laugh, didn't comment on his
song, nothing - and then just went "let's hear the other one, Tragedy." and he sang Tragedy in the same style. Straight off the back of his second performance the judges were in hysterics, laughing at how bad he was.
Anyway, both of those suggest to me that the acts had only brought two songs. I can't think of any reason why they'd need to bring 5 songs anyway, it's all scripted how the audition plays out.
Well what happened here, clearly, is that the producers told her "We really believe you're a star. We'll have you go out and do a Pink so, and the judges will say you're amazing but want to hear a different song, and it will be euphoric when you sing a different song - it'll be a fantastic story, a real triumph, everyone will love you."
It will have been made very clear to her that she HAD to sing a Pink song, or not perform at all. The fact that they misled her about the reaction is the exploitative bit.
I went to one of last years auditions and the judges have a list of 5 songs that the contestant has prepared. The contestants say which song they want to sing, and the judges agree/disagree to that, if they disagree they suggest another one off their list.

If she didn't want to sing a Pink song she didn't have to.
