The logo generally speaking seems to look better in any colour than red. Must say to our set looks so much better than the US version - I suspect they've spent far more on the Hollywood stage but it just looks like a cheap knock off - not having a circular stage really kind of compromises the design, while the judges there are practically below the stage.

I think that the reason why the US set look so ugly is partly because of the eyesores they use as graphics, I still don't understand why they use those graphics, they look so cheesy and don't fit with the way they advertise the show as "the biggest talent show ever with a $5 million recording contract". It's such a downgrade from last year's graphics which were amazing. I don't know why they didn't use this year's UK graphics because they're far better than the US ones.

Interestingly, Xtra Factor have just shown a full vote screen in blue rather than red and it looks a lot better.

I wouldn't say it looks better in any colour though, the American promos had it in turquoise and pink, it looked awful Laughing .

Is that a news embargo?

An embargo is something very different.

The man has been charged so no reporting can take place, hence DS are quite rightly just covering their back and not allowing any mention of it as any discussion would be sub-judice.... whether the two stories are connected or not. As should we here of course

The Sun article mentions the bare minimum they can once someone has been charged

X Factor US "for the first time in any singing contest" are revealing the order of the voting of all 12 acts at the end of the current episode. I guess they're only referring to US shows as I'm sure Popstars (and initially Pop Idol?) used to reveal the order.

Pop Idol certainly didn't - they did what American Idol still do and went to each contestant saying things like "Simon said you were great, Foxy hated it - but who did the public agree with?" I don't think Popstars did either here at least.

With all this fuss about the awful Chris Maloney (I'm sure the rumours he's topping the vote are just being leaked to discourage people to vote for him - I just can't see him being anywhere near the top!) I wonder if they might try it here this weekend - or perhaps reveal the current voting tally at the end of tonights show in an effort to sway it.

I'm very impressed by Khloe Kardashian as presenter on XFUSA. She handles the whole thing very well. I think she may be asked to present Newsnight or even the next General Election. Or Budget.

She's a natural.

Well what about Stars in their Eyes. Where they didn't technically reveal the order as such, in the live grand finals with the total number of votes you could easily see who was deemed good and who failed.

Not sure where that post stands on the irony counter but I've been pleasantly surprised by Khloe on The X Factor USA - I really thought they'd just gone for a name (and yes, I'm sure they did!) but she is a far better presenter than I expected.

Well technically speaking I guess all final reveal the order of voting.

With P!nk performing on the X-Factor this weekend I thought I'd post this related performance of her on the Australian version...

...Interesting to note how the star acts are introduced differently in Australia compared to in the UK, as well as the similarities & differences in the set.

Looking back at Sunday's results show did anyone else notice that Rihanna's performance appeared to be pre-recorded? She sang on a special stage which was located to the left of the judges, where some of the audience normally sit. Both prior to her performance (I think even at the start of the second part) and after the performance/break the audience are present in this area. Also it's safe to assume she was miming, as I rather doubt health & safety allows for the rain and live microphone combination (as well as singing one bit away from the mic).

I have a feeling that I saw a shout out for audience on applause store for a x-factor pre-record for last Friday lunchtime.
I guess this was it. The odd side-angles to hide the lack of a usual ever-screaming full capacity audience.

The Rihanna performance was recorded about an hour before it went out probably for obvious reasons. You can get waterproof microphones and it did sound live so I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

It's quite common - and always has been in entertainment shows. One Direction pre-recorded their apperance a couple of weeks ago too.
