The X Factor

Ok, just thought it was a little strange! But each to their own.

Yeah i saw the ratings - a 12.56m 5 minute peak apparently at 20:35! So great figures!

And one thing that does annoy me is the montages of the judges saying yes and you don't even hear the people sing!

Konnie was OK on Xtra Factor, but please bring back Holly!!

She's off the whole summer from This Morning, so surely she could have fitted the Xtra Factor in aswell?

Yeah but the auditions were done months ago - so she would have had to have time of then. Around now and up to like Mid September their filming judges houses ( hence when it relaunched last year Phil and Holly started a week late. )

Then it's every Saturday & Sunday come the Live shows ( and although she gets Friday's off This Morning - the would be filled with rehersals etc for the live shows. So she'd be working 7 days a week. Then come January it's Dancing on Ice - so that's a busy schedule for anyone , let alone a fairly new mum!

So unless she wanted to give up This Morning or DOI, she had little choice but to leave The Xtra Factor - Which whilst I admit she's great at , it's an ITV2 show , so much less profile. So for her and ITV's benefit it's better that she left this than the other shows. Anway last nights ratings show that the Xtra Factor was up aound 300k from last years opener , this year - around 1.5m.

Arguably though The Xtra Factor is actually more high profile than This Morning - though signing up Holly has certainly refreshened it's appeal in the last year.

It's not so much the lack of Holly which is the problem - it's that Konnie seems to be the wrong woman for the job, and seemed a bit of an odd choice when she was signed up.

I suppose their both quite high profile really. This Morning because it's on ITV1 and a long running show, The negative being it's in Daytime.
The Xtra Factor because it's the spin off, of one of the biigest shows on TV. The negative because it's on ITV2.
Really for her in terms of viewers , DOI is her biggest show.

I didn't mind Konnie, but i think she had a hard job following up Holly as she was perfect for the show. Mabye Konnie will improve in time but as you say she doesn't seem the natural choice for host.

Holly is completely unsuited to This Morning. She looks confused whenever there is a serious discussion.

I like Konnie. I think she will work much much better in the live shows.

I agree. I think don't really think that you can judge her soully on one episode of prerecorded links!

I think its time to change the X Factor host next series! Dermot is getting way too big headed!

I don't know if its been mentioned yet but next year, due to the American version of the show being launched, our XF wont start until November mearning the finale won't be until March 2012 - no Christmas No. 1!!

Nobody's picked up on the shocking use of auto tune on the auditions then?

They mentioned it on GMTV this morning.

I thought one of them had a autotuney sound to their voice, wonder how they got into the auditions.
