Well last years Rage against the Machine seemed to have a bit more momentum. The Anti - X Factor songs this year didn't IMO.
that because there 3 of them!

that because there 3 of them!
Yeah I was going to mention that - but then I couldn't remember what the other 2 songs, apart from the "Bird Is the Word" were.

I don't know what you've been reading, but the Facebook campaign for Surfin Bird had 600,000 followers at one point and the track itself reached number 2. Hardly disorganised. In the end sadly only about 50,000 of us actually bought the damn thing. I guess there are less Family Guy fans than there were anarchist moshers who downloaded Rage last year. John Cage's campaign didn't get anywhere near; and only got notable press coverage on Thursday. Guess the media like looking after their own. The Biffy Clyro thing wasn't an official campaign... just annoyed fans pi**ed off at Cowell nicking their song.
We know this was going to happen, this year campaign has been all over the place.

If all of them did it would have won a clear margin, its a shame some people never care to carry out... but getting to No3 is still pretty good, I have to say.
why cant people pick a proper xmas song?? its seems this is the last year,.,....

The winner of next year's X Factor will not be able to challenge for the 2011 Christmas number one, it has been revealed.
Due to the launch of the US version of the singing contest, next year's ITV series will not begin until November, according to The Sun.
This means that the final would not take place until March 2012, depriving the winner of the opportunity to take part in the usual end-of-year chart battle.

Or maybe not.
As this much more recent digital spy 'story' suggests that ITV want the show to go out in it's normal slot.

Just to correct you, the track actually made it to number 3. Still notable though.

BGT would not be a good test run, as simon would be there for the live show, Auditions section is more about how bad or great the acts are.
