Just to say the change to the contestant intro music was changed back again this week.

The choreography for last night's performance of Heroes was superb.

Can't believe Wagner's still going to be in the competition two weeks before the final. Rolling Eyes

Thank god for that.

Surprised they've not had another double yet - 7 acts left next week with 2 performances in a 1 hr 55 minute show (though most shows seem to get 5 minutes added by Saturday) is quite a lot to get through. I'm assuming a double next week (presumably one out directly, one voted out), then a double the week after to leave three in the final.

Personally I'd have done another double by now so only six remained next week once they perform twice, keeping the final Showdown - and then for the semi-finals lose an act on the Saturday and Sunday, both directly by the public vote.

It's this years Facebook campaign against the show... and it's clearly working.

And it's Cowell's pockets they're lining! How he ever got past his first audition, never mind through to judges houses, is beyond me!

And so Wagner finally leaves. Laughing

Shock result tonight then - the most unpopular two contestants leaving! As always though with acts like Wagner they stick around a bit longer than they should, but are out of the picture when it comes to the final.

Presumably another double next week (and probably just on the public vote) - I'd say Rebecca and Matt are almost certainly guaranteed a place in the final, but that third spot is definitely up for grabs. IMO One Direction have thrown it away in the last couple of weeks by playing it safe and being very complacent - by this stage they really need to have been realising that potential they had in the early weeks, and IMO it's the hype around them rather than the performances themselves which have kept them in the last couple of weeks.

The contestants are better singers than the international recording artists that were wheeled on tonight.

Good on Louis for having the unmentionables to choose between two of his own acts.

It would appear he was "unavailable" to appear on either Daybreak or Lorraine this morning, though none of the presenters appeared to know the exact reason. I'm guessing it may have been a decision by the X-Factor producers, as I don't recall his or Katie's appearance being plugged at the end of the X-Factor or Xtra Factor, as has been done in previous weeks. Personally I liked Katie's and most of her performances (and had voted for her), though I'm fully aware she is a 'marmite contestant'.

Is the audio being mixed separately for the studio & TV output as per previous years? With some of the performances I got the impression that it sounded very good in the studio (based on audience & judges reactions), however the TV audio mix wasn't as good.

Also with the Xtra Factor I've noticed over the past few weeks they've been making a few tweaks to the format. The main one being the judges questions section, which has reverted to being done at the judges desk (per previous years). They've also axed the list of callers, and instead are given the callers which on Saturday now tends to include one celebrity (this week was Harry Hill), this week also introduced taking a question from a member of the audience. I think Konnie has improved during the series and now seems more confident & relaxed.

When did they start using the big dramatic music with the moving lights onto the spotlight for when the final two contestants walk out to sing their song for survival?

I don't remember it always being there!
