Why the former and not the latter?

She'll be hated no matter she does, she can't possibly replace Sharon.

And she can't sing anyway.

Didn't Girls Aloud sack Louis?! This could be interesting!!

Because the former will pay the bigger fee - and it wouldb't be as much of a public comedown too.

At least she's had a few hit (if dire) singles people can actually name. Unlike Minouge.

They just said on Five News that Cheryl has been announced by ITV as the new judge. What an absolutely baffling choice - much as I liked Dannii, I never really understood why they picked her as the other three were all experienced managers - Cheryl is just the same, she has no experience of managing an act.

I still reckon we'll see Sharon sat behind that desk when the series gets on air.

Oh I know picking someone who's won a reality TV show in the same style as X Factor and managed to do the rare thing of having a long lasting successful career, I don't know what goes on in Simon Cowell's mind sometimes.

I still think it's a stunt.

Me too, especially as Sharon 'wanted' Cole to fill her spot on the panel anyway.

Seems an odd choice to me. I expect her being readily available to start on Thursday was a factor.

And no doubt by Friday, it wont be 'working'.
