Alexandra should win this by a mile - whether she will is another thing.

A good start to the show getting straight into it rather than spending 10 minutes introducing the judges - and great the final 12 got another chance to perform. Also great to finally have a show sob story free - just one simple VT each and then let the music do the talking.

As for the auditionees - I think the fact they had to raid five years worth backs up the claims the bad weren't bad enough this year. Personally though I think at most that should be shown on ITV2!

As for the duets - Eoghan just proved how old Boyzone are - their comeback has only proved how inferior they really were to Take That. I then drifted off to sleep and had some hideous nightmare where JLS and Westlife performed together, but thankfully woke up in time to see Alexandra and Beyonce, which hopefully will secure victory.

The final songs though and it was written all over JLS's face that their choice was Louis's choice - frankly it was one of their least memorable performances from the series and has cost them any chance they had of victory.

They did, as did most similar shows, but since the phone in scandals showed that some votes cast by text were not counted (due to the fault of the mobile operators, not the TV shows) it's been scrapped.

Time they were bought back IMO - SMS voting continues everywhere else around the world, and I'm sure a simple additional disclaimer of "all votes made or received after the lines close won't be counted but may still be charged" would cover themselves.


It's very strange tonight seeing both Dermot and Holly repeatedly plea for people not to vote now because the lines are busy.

Well after last year with Leon and Rhydian ITV were recieving quite a lot of complaints with regards to people not getting an answer when trying to vote.

With everything shaping up Judges comments who they were paired with Alexandra looks likely to be this years winner. Although don't count out JLS just yet

The Christmas trees on the stage aren't as good as the previous ones. In fact they look a bit artificial

Eoghan was just terrible with I Wish It Could Be Xmas....

It has to be an Alexandra and JLS final 2, with Alexandra winning. Eoghan shouldn't even be in the live shows, let alone the final!

Interesting to note from the plea for applicants that the age limit has been increased to sixteen again for next year's series.

Makes alot of sense considering they always rule out the under 16's as not ready for it, though I think Eoghan was 15 when he auditioned.

In the final 2 are JLS and Alexandra.

Anyone got a memory - generally speaking, doesn't the act who performs the winners song first win?

my favourite part of the night so far was the man's reaction to beyonce touching his cheek. I suspect eoghan expected to be in third too, he seemed very composed and accepting when they read out the results. although maybe that was because he fell asleep during dermot's preposterously bad pause.

Alex has got to win after that. Completely outshone JLS.
