Totally disagree with that. I still fail to see the appeal of Rachel, that all the judges seem to see, I just don't think she's unique in the slightest.
I fail to see the appeal of Diana though. Rachel for me is a much stronger vocalist than Diana, who CAN'T SING.
I suppose that's why music is so diverse because no one person likes all of same genres, styles and artists as somebody else, and in a way that's what makes the competition and peoples voting patterns interesting.
And what were the reports in the papers that the judges were on about to Rachel? Was it just the story of her and Danni's differences?
Rachel allegedly mugged an old woman when she was 18.
Is there any
allegedly
about it? They've made no secret of the fact she went to prison, but I think the X Factor would rather us believe she booked herself in rather than committed the crime which led to her doing the time.
The judges have no one to blame but themselves for who is getting knocked out now - it was them who failed to get rid of Daniel and Rachel when they had the chance, not the viewers. To be honest this was probably the first week when the viewers got it completely wrong with the bottom two - every other week at least one of the acts has deserved to be there.
Based on previous years I think the judges vote is kept to the final five - and so it should be. It's a key part of the format and forms a much better conclusion than just eliminating the single act with the least votes.
any idea when Britney is performing? DS reported it was going to be next week but it said on The X Factor that Leona was gonna be on next week and I heard on Radio 1 this evening that Same Difference are the week after... that's a bit of a piss take - I mean yeh Leona deserves to be there - she is a star in her own right. But Same Difference? They haven't released anything yet and it aint that long ago they were on that stage as contestants! I hear plans are afoot for Rhydian to appear also... what?!!???!!

Perhaps Cowell's doing a swansong and killing off the X Factor.
I reckon it won't be long before Britain's Got Talent moves to the Autumn period.
Guests- Take That, Rhydian and Same Difference
Theme- Take That
Take That will perform in show #1 with the other two in the results show.
I think Britney is on the 29th.
The standard this year has been really high but they're trying to make it seem worse by having stupid themes and irrelevant guests, e.g. Girls Aloud on Michael Jackson week, Will Young on Disco week. The live shows are a mess this year.

Ant and Dec's schedule would mean this isn't possible
Anyway, the ratings for this series are, to quote Peter Dickson, "Bigger and better than ever!"
Sorry to join this party a bit late but what THE HELL are the public thinking? Personally I liked Laura but I can see why she might not appeal to all. However that aside, Rachel should be out on her ass - not only is she irritating but she was consistently sharp all the way through this week's performance. It's not good enough to blame nerves - this proves that she is just not sufficiently talented to have got this far. Also I noticed she's really started to play the sob story card - all of a sudden she's not doing it for herself, she's doing it for her family. Change the record!
Daniel is growing on me!! And not a mention of the dead wife this week.
There's something about Diana that I really like, and I'm glad she didn't have to go out because of her throat problems. But she needs to curtail that annoying flicking up she does at the end of every line. It's ok every now and again but she does it too much.
And those people who criticise the themes are right - this week's was stupid, as was MJ and disco. Things like "Best of British", although they sound a bit naff, are good as there is so much more scope. Take That week is another silly one.
I'm enjoying this series of X Factor but if the boring / rubbish people continue to survive it's going to be a very uninspiring final. The LAST thing I want to see is Eoughan (sp?) win - what a bore, he's got about as much charisma as Leon Jackson.
Why don't they just release a Christmas single, we havent had a proper Christmas number one in ages. Wouldn't even mind if it was from the xFactor
In a way, the way that Pop Idol did it with the series carrying over into the new year, and/or the single being released after Christmas left the Christmas number one spot alone. Though didn't they release 'War Is Over' as a joint Christmas attempt in pop idol 2?
Was there a problem with the wipes tonight? When they got the the recaps of each performance, they kinda just cut to the whooshing X on a black background.. i thought normally it kinda overlaid on top of each VT?
As a side note, I booked Austin for an event last night, and his voice is truely something special... a travesty he went out so early. Genuinely nice guy too, but no dead wife unfortunately, or any other sob story.
So they got rid of R Daniel at last! And a week of so called voting "controversy" plays right into their hands with the highest votes of the series!
Based on overall performances the public got the bottom two right this week, but based on tonight alone perhaps they should have both escaped it - though whether both Diana and JLS were worse than Daniel I don't know.
Anyhow - bloody typical. The first time Rachel actually seems to enjoy a performance, and hence the first time as a viewer I enjoy her performance, Mr Cowell criticises it! She obviously felt pretty safe against R Daniel then - though I'm sure if he'd dedicated the song to his dead wife she's have gone into a tantrum Scott style.
