I'm still hating how the audience are still applauding when the first judge starts to speak. I don't understand how they can't get the audience to be quiet THEN do the judges comments.

Would make sense, surely?

Perhaps they could get Cat Deeley on to get the audience to be quiet. Wink

Quote from todays Daily Record

Rachel Hylton Fires X Factor Dannii - I Don't Need A Mentor

"Rachel Hylton has fired her X Factor Mentor Dannii, she is the first finalist in the shows history to compete without a mentor, Dannii admitted she has struggled to form a relationship with the mum of five.

The main point of the split was down to the song choices over the last few shows, which resulted in Rachel being in the showdown on last weeks show, matters were also made worst when Dannii admitted that she doesn't expect Rachel to make the final"

Never liked this girl anyways, her attitude from when I first seen her stinked, although she does have a superb singing voice. Wonders how they will go about this and most of all what the judges comments will be after she sings

This has been denied by Rachel...

She can't exactly fire her anyway - technically the Mentor is the boss. She could resign I suppose, but technically that would be from the whole show.

Thinking of that myself.. Although the show producers could allow it with the hope it would gain publicity for the show, although if they did in turn it could allow other hopefuls to do the same thing, which I don't think would be a good thing

According to the Digital Spy forum, the winner's song is going to be...

Delta Goodrem's Born To Try

I sincerely hope it's not... what a rubbish song.

If it is then that will suit Diana, Ruth and to an extent Alex. I can't see the rest pulling that off. So it looks like Diana has it in the bag.

Why not go for one of Simon's older hits like a Robson and Jermone track or Wrestlemania's Slamjam?

Diana would certianly suite that song with her voice, I also think Laura is quite adapteable as well

I'd rather see them do this.

I've always wondered why they don't write a new track, obviously it would have to be a similar song rather than writing a song for each of them, though that would make the final a bit different.

At the end of the day Peter Kay and the team who worked on his programme showed how easy it was to create a new song that is almost identical to all of the actual winner's songs that are used on the X Factor.

I'm sure they did original songs on Pop Idol, and at least initially on American Idol.
