Bad Lashes are out, woeful version of Wonderwall.

Woeful indeed. No great loss - them along with Daniel are the two acts I felt shouldn't have got through to the live shows.

Incredibly dragged out results show though - an extra 15 minutes but didn't seem to be anything that last years 30 minute shows didn't include.

Dermot isn't very good at filling time. I noticed this last year as well - during the final showdown while the second act is setting up he has time to fill and he always seems out of his depth, tripping over his words, not seeming sure of what to say. I know he also has to listen out for when the act is ready but as a professional I'd expect more.

The ratings for this series are unexpectedly even higher than ever, with the show peaking at more than 11m last night

The X Factor: 10.35m (44.1%) (peak: 11.25m (48.5%) at 19.50)
The X Factor Results: 8.02m (40.8%)

If it carries on like this, the final could be record breaking

First substantial clash with Strictly next week, however...

Superb ratings nevertheless. Cheryl seems to have made a huge difference.

Anyhow, the show is now a complete parody of itself - the intros are truly awful.

You're right. This was most noticable when they went to "DEADLOCK" in the results show. The dramatic thunderclap, and studio turning red, had the effect of making the audience in the studio laugh mockingly - you could hear it quite easily. It was hardly dramatic or full of suspense!

I was waiting for bars to drop down from the ceiling around the two groups.

Dermot's face when the audience started laughing was a picture. They only have themselves to blame - it was much better in the early series when rather than those stupid graphics and voiceover they just cut back to the host to introduce the act and what they were singing.

And they say ITV can't do comedy.

Noticed Eoghan seemed to be missing from The Xtra Factor after the results last night. Are they doing the same thing they did with Britain's Got Talent and sending him straight to bed, even though he is 16.

Holly did mention that he was 'too young' to be there whilst talking with the others.

The whole Deadlock thing was laughable, there's nothing special about getting the public to vote, leaving the decisions up to the judges and the judges throwing it back to the public vote. I really think last night it would have been better to have Louis vote first as he was always going to throw the vote if he could.
