It looks like someone in Trevor's family is giving him ill-advised style tips. After looking normal in his initial audition, last week he was all blinged up with a gold chain and rings and then tonight it looked like he was wearing his dad's suit!

I think Louis Walsh is very shortsighted. First he only wants one girl to go through. Is that because he knows most people who vote are females and they vote for the males. the person who has the best voice, Trevor does not go through because he has an image problem. Louis Walsh wouldn't know talent if it slapped him in the face.

A few weeks ago they were saying the 16- 24 year old group had the best singers and that the groups were the problem. I think it may be the oither way around now. I think Simon Cowell could win again this year with one of his groups.

Well the 3 acts I liked have all gone out!, its always the same I've never supported the winner yet!

Louis choices are a bit poor in my opinion , the three lads are very generic pop star types. Both Mini-Michael Jackson and Trevor with his Bling should have gone through and would have generated large fanbases and therefore lots of votes

Well, the first point you make in support of that argument is incorrect; quite the contrary, in fact:

He wouldn't be doing his job if he made sure that there were 2 lads and 2 ladies. What if all the boys/girls were crap? Ensuring an equal balance is a pointer towards the fact that Louis would be disregarding talent in favour of a fair share of the sexes. That would be an example of poor talent-spotting.

First of all I was referring to the talent in the show. Secondly he said before he made his choices only one girl was to go through. That indicated irrespective of how good or bad any of them were. His choices in my opinion was based on looks rather than individual talent.

I find it hard to understand why someone would suggest that one of the most professional managers of the UK would put his arse on the line in a highly popular talent show to make his decisions based on looks and not musical ability!

Er, yes because no popstars have ever been selected based on their looks have they?

That made perfect sense considering the bulk of the programme was split equally into three parts!

Much better idea than splitting each session up by an ad break!

For what it's worth I think Louis got it right.

I don't think any of the judges made a big mistake this year like Sharron did last year when she chose Tabby over that bloke who made them all cry (Andy?)!

I guess one thing the judges must also consider is who will get people watching the live shows. Someone like Chico won't win it, but will be good entertainment value - and as such make the live shows more watchable, which in the end should give the eventual winner a bigger market to aim at!

And finally - how pissed off would those who went to Dublin be when they find out the other went to Spain / LA!
