It still makes me laugh that people claim these type of shows are fixed when their favourite singer is voted off, especially when they probably didn't even vote for them in the first place.

It is inevitable that each judge has one act left in the final unless one of the categories has no talent in it whatsoever.

As Kate mentioned tonight, at one point there were just 24 votes between the bottom 2 acts. How can you even suggest that it is all rigged?!

That was a ridiculous and irrelevant comment given that if you apply logic to the situation, at one point tonight there must have been only one vote between the bottom two - i.e. when the voting started.

Is it just me or are Journey South like some dodgy German Eurovision entry? I can't take to them whatsoever. Shame Brenda's gone, she was my favourite by far, I don't really care for any of the remaining three.

I see Simon Cowell decided to commemorate the anniversary of John Lennon's murder by getting his "group" to murder a Beatles song. There was a time nobody dare cover a Beatles track, now a couple of club singers reckon they can have a go.
It seems there is a formula for all these songs which all the acts must follow:-

1. Slow-ish start to first two verses. Hand waving from audience please. No lighters in the studio though. Health and safety and all that.
2. Change to higher key for final third verse.
3. When 2 above happens, tickertape must descend from the studio roof. Gospel singers preferred for final verse to disguise lack of singing ability (dangerous if Westlife are on the following programme - I bet nobody in London could get hold of a gospel singer for love nor money on Saturday night).
4. Backing instruments and above mentioned gospel singers faded down as one of the singers (if it's a group) peers through his floppy blond fringe to "sing" final few words.

Saw a rather flashy looking promo for Saturday's final.

Anybody else seen it?

Quote from Sharon Osborne on tonight's "final" show:
"If Andy doesn't win tonight I'll never talk to the Great British Public again".
Quick, start voting for the other two now!!

Goodbye Journey South - about time too!

So Andy or Shayne who's it gonna be? The CD covers and CDs are already being produced.

That bit live from the CD production line was a nice feature

Not sure where Andi Peters has appeared from though!

"That's My Goal" suits Shayne much more than it suits Andy, and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" made me cry. Embarassed

Shayne has never been so nauseating. His song (ie. Christmas No. 1) sounds like the usual, instantly forgettable, slushy cr@p.

Would love Andy to win, but I think Shayne and his 'this is the only way I can better myself' nonsense will get him the top spot.

It was initally offered to Chris Moyles, who didn't fancy spending his Saturday night in a CD pressing plant.
