What he hasn't told anyone is that it's a song about Pizza Hut. Laughing

The shows are good entertainment, but as has already been suggested, the credibility of it all has gone. In the early days when they're going on about how this will change your life / make you a massive star etc, I believed them. Now I know that whoever wins it will release a couple of records then be effectively deleted from existence. It's interesting how mostly the ones who have stood the test of time were from the earlier shows. Steve Brookstein and Michelle McManus have been total flops.

In other news, does anybody know where they held the Manchester auditions? I know they used the Lowry hotel for one of them a few years ago (Pop Idol?) and for another the Dancehouse theatre on Oxford Road (opposite the BBC). However I didn't recognise the venue this time.

Joss Stone is probably the most successful music act to come from a reality show. It was called something like 'Star For A Night' and hosted by Jane McDonald. Luckily for her it was so awful that few people watched it at the time, or even remember it, and so she seems to have escaped the 'reality show' stigma that other artists have suffered.

Lemar's done pretty well too, picking up a couple of MOBOs last week.

The X Factor got it's highest ever ratings this week. 9.7 million tuned in and it peaked much higher than that. Despite many of the acts flopping after their first single, The TV Show is more successful than ever before

As much as I hate them, Girls Aloud have done VERY well for themselves scoring 2 number 1's, a number 2, a lot of number 3's and a number 9 Laughing

There's also Rosie Ribbons, Jessica Garlick, Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes too who also released songs after appearing on either series of Pop Idol.

And perhaps Andy Scott-Lee who was also in the last series of Pop Idol, formerly of 3SL and now in that Totally Scott-Lee MTV programme.

Probably O/T, but Will Young is releasing his third album soon, and the lead track of it, "Switch It On," gets a Channel 4 Video Exclusive in a few weeks time. In terms of singles and album sales, he's probably the biggest star to emerge from these reality series; and ties with Lemar for the star who has had the greatest critical acclaim and awards.
